Perhaps the thing to do is take what artwork there is to various cons? The last one I was at had artists showing off their own work and doujins. If you can get such a group interested in the project, well ...

...My only complaint is that the voice actor sounds a little too much like Wendee Lee (Haruhi's English voice actor) to my ears. After comparing the voices, they're not actually that similar, but...I dunno.
