Sharing some details about the story.

-Fate is currently really strong, his sword can absorb his own power and each time this happens Fate gets nerfed. He's still strong but that's the downside.
-If by any means Fate lose his control and goes crazy, a character named "Main" will kill him. He reached that point when he was fighting a Celestial Dragon and Roxys stopped Main and managed to calm Fate.
-The Sword can transform into other weapons, changes it's form each time reach another "stage".
-Fate is actually on a stage where he's at the level of Celestial Dragons and other beings, of course there are people stronger than him.
-The mask Fate use (see illustrations) makes him unable to be recognized but in the same fight against the Celestial Dragon, Roxys managed to see through that and recognized Fate.
-Fate's relationship with Roxys haven't received much development because she was sent to the frontier to fight.

Aside from that problem, this seems like a good series. Is the LN being fan-translated? Or is it just the WN that is?

No, the sword gets power from Fate to be more OP, by doing this Fate gets nerfed but that doesn't mean Fate will not go full berserker, that's why Main is there.

The LN is being translated and will get 2 ch per week, you have the WN too.
