There's NO reason for the bigger Japanese devs to skip the XboxOne. There's going to be enough XboxOne's in the NA market to make it worth their while to port all the bigger titles because unlike last generation the development costs to port cross platform between XB1, PS4, and PC are not as much of a problem.

It's possible, if they currently have deal with distribution company. And considering how X-box trying to cut the middle man and allow direct download. There might be complicated process to deal with their partner

Ironic that this is getting the nickname XBoned, because when people think of Microsoft now they'll think, ah, that's what happens to the people who made this that can't get laid^^, hence Micro...soft...now it all makes sense.

XBOX1 has absolutely ZERO chance in Japan and Korea, I can tell you right now. XBOX 360 didn't do so well in those countries iirc, and with the advantages PS4 has over the XBOX1 as it stands, that disparity is only going to grow.

I'm not planning to get a new console yet, but when I do, it's going to be PS4 unless Microsoft does something absolutely ground-breakingly colossal to win my confidence back. That possibility is looking pretty bleak at the moment.

That's why they need your money. How else do they pay for their prostitutes?

Microsoft did so poorly in Japan with the first- and second-generation consoles they're probably not even going to try much with the xbone.

LOLNO.

If you get banned from Steam (usually happens from cheating) you still get to play all of your games (just not multiplayer ones with VAC enabled).

That's VAC banning. Valve can actually ban Steam accounts altogether preventing people from playing games, though that's usually due to suspicious activity (accounts being sold/stolen, accounts registering keys taken/purchased from unauthorized sites).

That's nice and all, but if Joe Bloe goes to gamestop and intends to buy a game and he sees COD 2014 for $60 brand new and $50 pre owned and buys the preowned one, what now?

Because not everyone actually trades in games, a lot of people just buy games, used ones at that. Your statistics are purely for people who trade in. Which market do you think is bigger? The hardcore buy new game, trade in for another new game gamer or people who just buy the cheaper used games?

The Wii U situation is a bit different. It was announced in 2011 and released in 2012 and so had no new rival competition for people to pick from. With the PS4 and XB1, both were announced in the same year, are coming out around the same time, have a multitude of cross platform titles, comparable hardware and are very much in direct confrontation.

Apparently MS backtracked on this...
So its kinda of up in the air, but this is just more terrible Xbox one PR.

That interview was so unsettling to watch. You can literally feel the veins popping in Nelson's forehead as he realizes Joe isn't a corporate tool like Keighley.

It's funny how MS wanted to avoid bad PR by cancelling the roundtable, yet they still get it anyway. Maybe they should turn that logo into a muzzle

Correct me if I'm wrong. If the game sharing of xbox one works like how I imagine it. So basically is a father and son are in different states, provinces or prefecture or whichever. The father has a game he just bought and would like to share it to his son. The son can then download the game and play it without ever getting near the physical disc in the father's possession.

Now my just epiphany that I don't want to acknowledge until some one points out "Yes, stupid.". Is that this indicates the father has an xbox one in their home while the son has another xbox one at his place. So what happens is that MS expects xbox one sales to be per person instead of per household?

If you don't have the xbox one at your house, why bother buying a new game?

Though I realize this logic is probably mostly definitely wrong. Why does it seem like a probable conclusion to me?

Technically the son can play on any xbox. But yes its a way to drive more sales.

It's a weird combination.

XB1, as a digital platform, means that games are tied to 'individual' accounts.

Yet from a hardware standpoint, people will buy consoles per household. Majority of sales will be per household. But there is always the segment of buyers who buy per person, depending on either geographical constraints ( living apart ) or are die-hard gamers.

This game-sharing feature exist solely because most consoles are per-household. The idea is that when a different family member log into their account, they can still play the game bought by another family member. ( who tied the purchase to his/her account )

Of course, people can always share one-account when playing.

Source? Because in the Major Nelson interview with Joe they gave the example of the son attending university or something and the father sharing games with him.

the xbone family share thing is going to be great for people who take advantage of it, if you have 1 friend who you play games with all the time online than this just cut your purchases in half, as well as allowing you to check out whatever they buy that normally wouldn't interest you.

If you're a diehard cod fan and your mate is battlefield, you now have both games, your mate is nba live (lol) and you're 2k, again you have both. Your mate gets a game like catherine which you normally would not look at, you try it out because you can, hey this game is pretty good!
