[Manga] Boruto Chapters Discussion Thread

really hate it when a new series starts with a future spoiler, now i now the ending the only thing now is how they fill in the gaps...not too mention they are retelling the whole movie as a manga arc...

Why is boruto going in the kakashi route with his eye replaced, he should have the Byakugan already in his blood since his sister has it sighs

Would be so funny if at the end of this, we find out that this whole time they were in Infinite Tsukuyomi, and the whole thing with Kaguya was part of Madara's plan, and he was just watching the whole time

If all ends this small move would basically rewind the entire story, the moment madara used IT he won...
Everything else is just the IT giving the people what they want in order to be happy (hardships and villians but always with a happy end)

I'm fine with the drawing with the exception of Hinata's hair not being straight like usual, Himawari is just awkward looking, and Sarada's ascot. Perhaps give him time and feedback from the fandom and we'll see improvements. Even Naruto was awkward and rough the first few chapters.

1. This is innesesary
2. The artwork, for a pair of year until the author improve or we get used
3. It seems a fanfic
4. Started badly, with a spoiler of the future/tease
5. Continued worse, with the extended version of the movie, for how much? 10 chapters?

For point 5 this chapter covered the first 21 minutes of the film so it depends how long future chapters are if they are the same then 5 to 6 if they drop to 20 then a lot more than 10.

Not to badmouth the Boruto manga, but from the very beginning there was a little problem for me. Let's compare.
Naruto:

• bottom of the class
• orphan
• no friends
• hated by everyone
• has a demon in his belly

Boruto:

• top of the class, he is a prodigy
• loving family
• (lots?) of friends
• well respected
• has little time with his daddy because of very good and understandable reasons!

So why should I sympathize with him and not see him as a spoiled brat? I didn't see the movie so maybe it does become better. But at the moment I couldn't care about his problems at all. Sarada is more likable in comparison.

It's a failure on Naruto's part as well. He KNOWS how it feels, so why wish it for the same on his kids? But really, he's not empathetic or understanding until it happens to him personally

Well, I'll be honest. Seeing Konoha blown up was the best thing ever. Will of Fire that peace nonsense into the ground.

But you can't expect Boruto to understand how it feels to have no parents or family at all. You really should watch the movie because it's clear Naruto's also at fault.

with art like this, it better have a darn good story. I thought he had a sharingan till people here were calling it a byakugan so i double checked. in the pannel where it's small it looks like he has three dots around his pupil but that's just to identify the pupil in the byakugan.... this should be obvious with a better artist imo. I wonder if it's his mothers.

I'm personally glad they didn't start him with the same settings as naruto. As he said in the beginning, this is his story. It's better if he has his own issues as an individual than to be a complete carbon copy of naruto. They may seem insignificant but daddy issues can be a big deal and no matter how talented he is, he lives in the shadow of the greatest ninja. That's not something that's easy to deal with being a young boy, or man, trying to be his own person.

its silly to have Naruto battle for all these years to get rid of the hatred, only for one dude to come and blow it all up? seems like a total waste of 15 years of work from Kishi. Naruto and Sasuke are on a whole different level from literally everyone in the series. for one of them to get beaten by someone other than each other would be an ass-pull like ever.

come on guys, i agree that the art is bad but this isnt kishi, he wont be able to copy his style, so lets wait until the story has around 5 or so chapters before judging the art...
a lot of the monthly chapters got better around the 4th or 7th release

considering that until now it only featured movie-stuff i dont think that this is possible

btw, is nobody else interested in the bigboss fight against momoshiki? until than the art should also improve to allow reading without getting eye cancer

The best solution for now is waiting for next chapter to until it complete to justify this series or start to treat this spin off being "non-canon" for our sanity sake.
