Kasane Kujiragi is a really strange girl, just as much as Haruna imo. And she's armed with a dangerous ability as well (referred to her as one of Saika's?) Anyways, I thought the episode was interesting with the two conversations - Mikado and Izaya and Anri and Haruna. They talk about their plans, human, Saika, etc were all fairly neat.

Hiroto looks like he might be getting into some trouble if not careful.

Solid episode. A lot of transition but the dialogues really captured the magic of the arc. Loved it.

That talk between Mikado and Izaya shows they are similar yet different and Mikado would rather have Izaya on his side than them on opposites. Mikado tells Izaya to watch the news as he hasn't heard Celty's head out in the open. At first Aoba thought it was Mika but Mikado informs him it wasn't. Mikado calls Mika's phone just to be sure and the voicemail confirms she's alive. Izaya is just amuse the irl pulled a prank on him rather than be angry. Well Celty fainted while Seigi is angry.

Haruna is willing to help Anri if she'll help her find the object of affection the teacher who preys on highscool girls. Anri would rather not and turns out she doesn't have much control on Haruna anymore due to not mastering Saika. Haruna wants to take Anri's Saika. Kasane interrupts cause they were disturbing her fun time with kitties. Shocking Haruna as she is a rebellious child attacking her mothers. Kasane offers to buy Anri's Saika as she doesn't control hers but coexist with it. Anri doesn't want to. For further talk Kasane offers her fellow Saika weilders to come to a cafe.

Meanwhile ex-drug pusher meets with a Yodogiri Jinnai minion who offer a deal to help him steal Jinnai's money. The ex-minion reveals he was the guy who egged on the driver to hit and run Kadota.

I wonder why some likable characters are rather quick to suspect Yellow Scarves are the ones that run Kadota?

When will Celty finally get her head back?
She certainly deserves it.
Anri dealing with Haruna.. not an easy task.
Mikado sure is changing..
Kasane is an interesting one... pretty cool.

The conversation between Mikado and Izaya was interesting. Izaya views Mikado as a perfect example of a human that he loves, while Mikado is perfectly aware of how dangerous Izaya is, but wants Izaya on his side.

Anri and Haruna also had a ingesting conversation. Meeting Kanase must have been a shock for them. She is easily more skilled with Saika then either one of them.

Since we know that Saika physically enter people's bodies, it's trueform not being a sword make sense. Why it choose to manifest itself as a sword is another thing though, but I guess it's wishes are more easily realized this way.

"oh no I'm becoming a monster for wanting to slice up Izaya-san"

No, not at all girl. That is a perfectly normal reaction for any normal human being.

Except if you're Shizuo. Then your reaction is to try to beat him down with the closest vending machine you can find.

Sweet, lots of Anri in this episode. I really hope she'll be able to gather her resolve soon, Haruna's analysis was right on the money: she's become too soft and indecisive. As she is now, she won't be able to know anything for Masaomi and Mikado.

Hey guys I hope someone replies to me, even though the conversation didn't sound too lively. But I literally just retrieved my password just to ask this: Why does Izaya think that Mikado is an ideal human being? I don't, I don't, I don't get Izaya at all anymore... HELP! (LN spoilers welcome)

P.S.
I can't find decently avid discussion of DRRR anywhere, is there a place I don't know about where the fans congregate?

I always assumed that was because Mikado is as crazy as he is without even being aware of it, and that makes him unpredictable and therefore super interesting in his eyes.

The Durarara community is pretty much dead everywhere, not sure what happened exactly.

It's a shame that community is dead...

I found a translation of their conversation online, though, and I have to say that the anime does no justice to it. In the text Izaya explains what he's raving about in great detail. And only through the text I realized the kind of relationship the two have. I had no idea from the anime that Mikado was the second Kida and realized he was Izaya's puppet but still thanked him. The anime fails to get really important points across and the end result is that the characters become shallow and vague.

Oh cmon, how could they cut out the thanking? Even I was surprised, but it made so much sense for Mikado to thank Izaya for blowing his cover, even though it was paradoxical from the first glance. And Izaya revealed a lot of what he thinks of himself while talking about Mikado, which in turn made his character more clear. I can't believe they just do away with pretty much all character depth in the anime by cutting stuff like that out but yet presenting us lengthy action scenes...

To be honest, I really didn't like these new Durararas. The old company that did the first season knew what it was doing. Right now I'm fully prepared for the conclusion of the whole series to make little to no sense to me.

Maybe this is why the community is dead. The new anime has wrong focus for being an animation of a rather complex line of LNs, as a result, it leaves people confused and largely uninvested in its characters.
