Shiki's 'rape' scene was pretty...unique, to say the least. Because when you think of rape, you don't usually think of a guy salavating all over you, ripping the bottom of your kimono with his teeth, and fondling your breasts with his tongue....

That scene creeped me out so much.

Keep in mind that his origin is "eating", so everything he does relates back to eating in some way. Thus the focus on saliva and biting.

Anyway, I agree with Mentar, pretty much. This movie wasn't really that great because it was bogged down by pointless subplots and almost meaningless psychobabble. Which, incidentally, they kind of ignored at the end anyway. While it had some great moments scattered throughout, it was basically too long for its simple story. I blame Nasu for this though, rather than the directors. I'm pretty sure he had even more stuff crammed in there that they had to cut out.

Edit: Not to say I didn't like, but it was sort of an underwhelming finale.

Well, it was everything i expected and then some. Truly a masterpiece of a film, and quite possibly the best two hour experience. Especially that last half hour. I'll have more to say once i sort out my feelings, but for now, just wow.

Mikyia let her hair on his eyes . So , Touko couldn't do something about it . And i wonder where did she go ? I though she'll save them but ... oh well wonderful last scene .

On subplot "pointlessness": The first half of the movie is material that'll cross the "aimless and meandering" line for some viewers, but I can forgive at least the drug-dealing subplot because it gives us that chillingly twisted kiss scene in return. (shudder)

The final movie was really nice one with awesome animations and graphics. Although I was a bit dissapointed with the final plot, and I think the movie is alittle too long (2 hours!!), but I really have enjoyed it, luckily the character development of Shiki is superb, the relationship between Shiki and Mikiya getting better is really nice. The antagonist is for me quite a disspointment with his petty and lame excuses for murdering innocent people; I was expecting some bigger "endboss".

As for Mikiya's personality, he's a nice guy, I never have something to criticize about him until this 7th movie, where he acted so overly nice, it's almost crazy, throwing away your life and Shiki's for your senpai. It's okay to defend yourself even when your senpai (Lio Shirazumi) was your best friend, but now he is a mass murderer who has killed countless people; Mikiya won't forgive Shiki if she kills his senpai? But she has the right to defend herself, right?! How his mind works is really a big question/mystery to me! For my part Mikiya should put his senpai out of his misery by killing himself (or at least try since his senpai can fight with inhuman speed and strength now which makes it an impossible task); showing mercy that way would be better in my opinion.

Overall the Kara no Kyoukai movies are among the best of the best. In my opinion Movie 3 is the best out of the 7 movies, because the outstanding drama/tragedy, storytelling, building up 'till the end and especially Mamiko Noto's voice-acting as Fujino Asagami how she shows her emotions/shocks etc during the fights with Shiki.

Umm, I didn't say "all" female characters though. And Saber got molested by Rin while Shiro was happily watching.

And I still haven't watched this movie yet, even though it's been on my PC for hours now.

I almost regret that I watched it, even tho I have rated all of the KnK movies a 9/10. Even this one...

I think you didn't get his point. He wasn't going to be childishly angry at her, he didn't want her to commit murder. He didn't want her to commit the crime, to cross the line. It wasn't about some justice "Rio killed more so why she cannot?" He didn't want his beloved one to kill. I think that was all that he had in mind. I don't know whether it's the truth though. But still the next scene shows that he mostly cared about her and he was simply happy she was alive.

I noticed something more. Didn't you get the feeling all this scene was... so sick? I mean the mood. This movie was the first one they had so many interactions with each other, so intense scenes. And since Mikiya woke up and started crawling to her I was all "awww".It was sick, he was cut, he lost his eye, had his leg crushed. She cut off her thumb, she was also cut and mentally destroyed and all I was thinking about was "Kokutou damn, go and kiss her, idiot!!!" It was just so... cute. This whole scene made me and my friend melt inside. It was such heart warming and unexpected. Beautiful. And even though they were next to corpse cut into pieces, all covered in blood and after drugs... I'm really amazed how I could react to such scenery and mood. But still all I cared about was what they would do and what kind of progress this would bring. And the last scene after that was what I longed for. It was the first time since ages that I was so satisfied with ending and how relationship developed. They didn't even have to say it to each other, the feelings between them, they just were in the air, not needed to be said. So obvious. And I really admire Mikiya for loving her so strongly for so many years and still. It's something that really moves me.

Anyway, liked it but not as much as I liked movie 5. Like most people here, I didn't really care for Lio and the series barely said anything to make us feel we should care. I thought what was lacking was Lio's relationship with Mikiya and Shiki (which seemed like last minute additions) and how Shiki's relationship with her family is (it's still rather vague). I also, personally, would have preferred if Shiki continued being a reluctant tsundere.

As for the action sequences, definitely loved it despite the final blow being somewhat anticlimatic (I guess). But still an improvement over the "camera in the washing machine" bullshit in movie 5. Animation is also superb despite the goof up in 1:44:00 .

She sure wasn't reluctant in the bed scene. She was pretty piss at Mikiya for not making a move on her, wonder if all those times she invited him to sleep on her bed meant it was okay for him to make a move. Poor Shiki.

Lio kind of bored me, lost on any bearing of history he had with Shiki or Mikiya.
