For those who didn't saw it, there is also an extended trailer.
It's the same as the one MakubeX2 posted but with a little gameplay at the end.

Fox Engine is really something. From the rain, physics and over all "real feel" environment.

As it seems Ground Zeroes will feature base management and smartphone features.

I'm currently playing Peace walker and I'm hating the base management aspect, so this is rather bad news for me. At least it looks like the game won't be divided into missions (the most terrible idea in PW).

Yeah, the missions in PW were a bad idea, especially as you HAD to do them to make the reasearch bars move.

So lets hope this will be real time, so at least you can stay in your base and leave the console while you do some other things (or manage it with your mobile, while you are away...)

Kojima, you are magnificent.

The game looks like it would be amazing even if it wasn't Metal Gear Solid related.

Kojima is most definitely at it again. That was way too similar to snake's model in the previous Gound Zeroes demo for it to be a coincidence.

Btw if anyone wants to see the trailer you can catch it here: http://www.polygon.com/2012/12/7/374...by-dick-studio

well even if this is cool its a little premature to see a (most certainly) announcement of MGS5 when we know little of GZ, and i think it would had been more interesting leaving clues within GZ, in the fashion naugthy dog did with the last of us on uncharted 3, or valve with mann vs machine in tf2.

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes to tackle “mature themes”

Quote:
Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, the next game from Kojima Productions, will tackle many “taboos” and “mature themes,” according to Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima. So much so, that Kojima is unsure if he’ll even be able to release the game.

“Over the past 25 years, I have tried to work with the Metal Gear series to try and introduce more mature themes,” Kojima told Spong. “But really, it hasn’t happened yet, compared to movies or books. There’s still has a long way to go. That’s precisely what I want to try and tackle with my next project, Ground Zeroes. I’m going to be targeting a lot of taboos, a lot of mature themes, that really are quite risky. Honestly, I’m not even sure if i’ll be able to release the game!”

He added, “And even if I did release the game, maybe it wouldn’t sell, because [the themes would be] just too much. But as a creator, I want to take that risk. As a producer, it’s my job to try and sell the game. But I’m approaching this project from the point of view of a creator, where I’m prioritizing creativity over sales.”

Hopefully, that risk won’t lead into the following scenario, as described by Kojima.

“It’s very possible that some time in the future after Ground Zeroes is out, I may be called up by management who will say, ‘Kojima! What are you doing? Ground Zeroes isn’t selling! What have you done?’ And at that point I’ll [hopefully be able to] say, ‘Don’t worry! [Metal Gear] Rising is selling well!”
http://gematsu.com/2013/02/metal-gea...-mature-themes

This is both intriguing and disappointing at the same time. Intriguing because I want to see what mature themes he is going for. Disappointing if the game can't be released because of it.

I wonder what “taboos” these would be so the game won't be released.
Brutality? Mincing people into bloody pulps was released already.
Torture? Most of the MGS games have this already.
Sexuallity? Don't see much of a taboo here... except Big Boss is revealed to be the greatest lolicon in the history of pedophils... and he gets a hard core sex scene with loli Sniper Wolf... >_>;

Some people theorized Big Boss will have to shoot some child soldiers.

I so loled!

Iam guessing that he' still going for the after patern after Boss, Bigboss then Solid Snake then Raiden. One generation beats the older one. I won't be surprised he goes through with MGR more than MGS.

Well either way he needs to squeeze more ideas out of his brain since there are alot of fans of Bigboss and Solid Snake.

Edit:

He's probably worried that MGSGZ might end up like the shooting massacre since we are dealing with child soldiers here. Some will die in the battlefield and it's an open world.

Presumably doubts that players would want to play as a woman in her late 40s/early 50s.

...so set it in WW2, perhaps?
