Ali Project
Anyone listen to ALI PROJECT?
Figured out this Japanese band by the BGMs in .hack//roots and by god, I love their music. Great and unique style of genre and a singer whos voice sounds like she can be perfect for Japanese Opra. Very classy and unique in terms of music nowadays IMO. Really unique from those jpop/jrock bands, and that's how it's so appealing. <3 Ali Project Some of my fav. songs of theirs are Gesshouku Grand Guignol King Knight Boukoku Kakusei Catharsis GOD DIVA Yuukyou Seishunka Kopperia no Hitsugi Narcisse Noir Rose Moon Je Te Veux Here's them live performing Gesshouku Grand Guignol. http://youtube.com/watch?v=1Dentju_Zic Music video for Boukoku Kakusei Catharsis(.hack//roots ending song) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRrlhIMLSro |

Chinkonsou from the new single (the code geass one) sounds like it was pulled right from the 24 Itallian art songs and arias book that every high school kid learning classical voice uses. It's kind of dissapointing that with such great orchestration that the melody is kind of lame. But it still cracks me up to listen to.
The main song from the single is actually pretty good but the synth violins sounds really cheesy. And I really like the .hack//roots ost. I like God Diva but I'm sure Mozart is rolling in his grave right about now. My favorite song from the soundtrack is Dwindled bible. The vocals in that song are really lovely. |

I too prefer the ones with fast rythm. I listened to the op of code geas and.. i did not like it at all. Like some one else already said it's more "hit or miss" with this group.
My favorite for the moments ( my tastes change alot) op Rozen maiden Traumend Dwindle bible king knight God diva About the soundtrack of .hack//Roots i adore From midst of town and sluggish heart it's only my opinion but i enter a strange state of mind listen to them Music i really like put me in that state. Should i stop drugs? |

I only heard their songs for Rozen Maiden and Code Geass, but I like it. They include instrumental passages that remind me of classical music.
Yuukyou Seishunka really reminded me of Rozen Maiden's OP, which isn't really good, since that means they are doing things too similarly for the two, but Chinkon Shiyou sounds good. |

omg I lurvs ALI Project! XD; Yeh, the faster paced songs (like Kinjirareta Asobi, Seishoujo Ryouiki, God Diva, etc), are AWESOME! I don't really like the slower ones (Water drop, Pastel pure, Atashi ga Alice datta koro, etc) But overall, ALI Project pwnzzz ^-^

None of you listened to their non anime stuff?
That's horrid! You're missing a very different side to ALI PROJECT. (it has to be capitalized) Some of their anime stuff sounds like they had too much fun. How come no mention of maria-sama soundtracks at least? |

i hate all of ali projects newer stuff.
i like the rozen maiden leer lied best album, but i'm not sure what stuff they had a hand in. the monster princess opening was ok, i guess. but not spectacular. Last edited by Potatochobit; 2007-05-15 at 13:13. |

i have a pile of love for ALI Project... i don't like their normal sounding songs, though... like Water Drop and LABYRINTH...
#1 favorite = sensou to heiwa closely followed by Narcisse Noir... i like the music and whatnot from the usual version of the song and the slightly rewritten lyrics of the orchestra version... if only i could somehow combine them...

I got interested in ALI PROJECT after watching Rozen Maiden, I loved all the three openings that they did, especially "Baragoku Otome" the ouverture OP. It was a bit of a shock when I first listened one of their regular (not associated with any anime) albums "Romance", it had no beats, drums, etc. However I am also a classical music and violin fan so it was not difficult for me to like it. I think most people, even if they like some of the songs they have done for anime, would have a hard time enjoying the strict combination of Violins and Piano+Japanese Singing that composes good deal of their discography.
