I do like the melodies they use, they're pretty uncommon for pop vocals. For anyone interested, it seems like the use of the major 6th and 7th in the minor scale plus some chromatic movement is what gives the melodies that feel that is unique.

But I think their songs are a bit too long. I couldn't get the melodies out of my head as far as the OP to Noir and two of the endings to Code Geass. But after 5 minutes, that 'uniqueness' seems repetitive.

Since this is an Ali Project thread, you guys should listen to Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo's OP - Ra Ra Eve Shinseiki.

Its probably one of their best songs yet, it has appealed to lots of people who didn't like Ali Project.

This post also doubles as a Sorakake recommendation lol

Ali Project since I first heard them I was totally fascinated. I absolutely love their style it's so unique. There aren't many bands that to stuff like this! I first heard Ali Project in Rozen Maiden and was stunned, after that I watched other animes because they had Ali Project Op's. Shigofumi really grew on me and it's kinda thanks to Ali that I found that Anime.

I wish Ali project would do the Umineko No naku Koro ni Opening but that is absolutely impossible.

Lol kitsu.. i heard Ali Project in Code geass.. its really different .. but id prefer Shikata akiko.. shes really great at bringing out that.. *i cant describe* feeling.. while.. Ali project has this really upbeat feel to it

Yup, Shikata is totally fine with me~. She has a nice voice and can bring out a certain feeling but still some songs of Ali Project are so dark and gave you that feeling of I dunno... Mysterious and royalty. i just can't describe it.
Also Ali Project has two sides black Alice and white Alice (I think that's what they called). Did ya listen to Waga Routashi Aku No Hana something like that would absolutely fit for Umineko, which also has this aristocratic style or KING KNIGHT is also good. Boukoku Kakusei Catharsis would also fit very well.

mm An Ali project song for umineko would be epic.

However there will be a Ali project song for anime adapted from graphic novel (phantom, requiem for the phantom) from Nitroplus

Ali project will song the ending . The anime premiers the 3 of April but the single release is 27 of May.

The name of the single is Jigoku no Mon . You can hear the instrumental version at phantom radio. It is great. I can't wait to listen it with Arika's voice.

And the single will come with a DVD ¿Maybe a PV?
