I think there's a scientific law that any promotional video for an anime series in the English-speaking world has to be rife with suck and forced hype. They even made Haruhi look dodgy. I just don't pay attention to them anymore.

Hey guys. LUCKY STAR IS INDEED LICENSED, in the exact same way as Haruhi. I was just watching the vol 4 extras of tMoHS, and there is a clip of the Lucky Star episode that spoofed Haruhi. At the end of the clip was a message saying Lucky Star Coming Soon From Kadokawa USA and Bandai Entertainment Inc.. Lucky Star IS LICENSED after all.

****!

*Begins mass download of LS ep 1-21*

I think you're several pages late with that post ....

we still need to determine if that constitutes an announcement or not --- usually there's *SOME* sort of press release or convention announcement.

They should be updating the Haruhi website on Thursday with the news. There is supposedly a new item hidden for Nov 1st.

......... I hope it DOESN'T get licensed. My mom wouldn't let me buy the DVD's or ANYTHING of it! She thinks I should like Naruto, or the current Pokemon series. ugh!

so basically, because you can't buy it, no one else should be able to either?

I expect nothing less from Kyoto Animation considering the fact that they are in love with themselves.

That line most likely comes from Kadokawa - not Kyoto Animation.

Either way, they love whoring themselves out. I lost track as of how many times Kyoto also advertised their own shows to the point of where it was not so much a joke as it was a shameless promotion.

That's all well and good, but in this case it's non-applicable. In fact, that post could be considered off-topic.

Okay... now that's just very odd. She wants you to watch violence and animal abuse instead of humor?

See I told people they'd market it like this.

And like FPB said, one of the unspoken rules of western anime marketing is to portray the show in a way that is almost nothing like what the actual themes of the show are, usually in a campy cheesy sort of way. Tying it superficially to another product is one such common method.

That said it still can't come close to dethroning my all time most loathed trailer. ADV's Megazone 23 Part 1 trailer.

ANN has Lucky Star listed as licensed! Whee! I could buy the DVDs when they come out. If only I had a decent amount of money! Now that the license is true, I shall speculate the english cast (these are MY suggestions of the cast. Some might have a 50% chance of coming true)

Konata - Wendee Lee (I can see her as Konata)
Kagami - Kari Wahlgren or Kate Higgins
Tsukasa - Hynden Walch (She does Starfire in Teen Titans!) or Tabitha St. Germain (she RULES as Pucca!)
Miyuki - Stephanie Sheh, Michelle Ruff or Dorothy Fahn

They have Hynden Walch doing Emiri in Suzumiya Haruhi. What do you think? You wanna speculate? Then do so!

I think they're going to screw us over, and use bratty sounding 11 year olds for the voices. :X

Just as long as they do a better job then they did with Love Hina or Haruhi I'll be content.

Solution: don't even worry about the dubs.... (just watch it in the original Klingon ). I'm just glad I'll get to show my support for the series now in a $$$ way (though I've already gotten a few of the CDs).
