Hmm Arakawa stated in an Interview that Homunculi don't need to sleep or eat, but do so as much as possible because it would consume some of their stone otherwise. So my guees would be they aren't generally immune to it, but they heal their illnesses automatically, so they don't really get sick.

I see. Just two more questions:

1) Has Winry's grandfather (the one who married Pinako) ever been revealed?

2) Can someone list the characters' ages that have been revealed?

question 2 (ages as of the final arc. Might be off by one year on some counts):

I always thought Hughes is one year older than Roy. Doesn't he often call himself Roy's senior?

And only Ed turned 16 at the time of the final arc, we don't know about Winry or Ling, they may still be 15.

No, Roy and Hughes are both born in 1885, Hughes probably looks a lot older because he's a married father...

In Chapter 79 (and in Brotherhood Episodes 42/43) when Kimblee convinces Drachma to attack Briggs the reason is obvious, to create a blood crest, but wasn't the bloodshed outside Amestris (in Drachma)?

Yeah, that spot was just outside Amestris. Because if you recall the country's shape isn't exactly round, it misses the upper part, so to complete the circle they must take a step outside of the country's territory.

Anyway, just look at this:

Spoiler for screenshot:

Is it ever explained why Ed can't repair his own automail with alchemy even if it's only partially damaged? I mean, wouldn't it just be a process of analysising its composition and memorising how it's made?

i assume because he would need knowledge of the mechanics of the automail, which he doesn't have, and all of its individuaal parts

Can someone explain how using the Philosopher's Stone will get them their original bodies back?

they use the stone as the fee to open the gate. Once they're at the gate, they can retrieve their bodies. Remember how Ed escaped from Gluttony?

What ever happened to the Philosopher's Stone that Alphonse used to battle Pride and Kimblee? Did Marcoh actually use the entire thing up to heal Heinkel?

Is Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood a remake or something ?Because I've seen the first episodes and all they do is show episodes I've seen in the first season...

Like the flashback of their childhood, and that charlatan that made everyone believe that he can create miracles...

FMA Brotherhood is an adaptation of the source material, the manga. The original series you have seen only adapted about 30% of the manga, and then went down it's own path.

The first 15 or so episode follow the same material as the first series, but after that is goes in another direction. I would recommended to still watch those first 15 episodes because their are some small changes that are important later on.

Brotherhood follows the whole mange unlike the first series. The first series was awesome, but Brotherhood tops it easily.
