Woot? They need to complete their half ass WoT first before thinking about this one, seriously. There are so much thing that need to be fixed and improved. Currently it's still be at, what, 0.6.4?

I've gotten the beta, and I have to say that it's not as fun as WoT. I don't know if it's due to the controls being really uncooperative, or if planes simply aren't my thing, but it's just not as addicting. Bombing stuff is pretty fun but it seems that there are always players who get to the target before you do, and dogfighting is complete hell, as it usually involves spinning around in confused circles while the enemy eats off little bits of your hp.

Hm, yeah, the idea sounds neat to me.. but I recall when I used to play Battlefield 1942, planes were never really my thing.. That said, a good pilot could cause insane amounts of destruction, but only planes is .. "meh" -- I'm looking forward to see how they include blanes in World of Warships!

As far as World of Warplanes goes, it has a lot of work to be done. If you're into plane sims I don't recommend it. If you like more casual and simple sorts of flying games though you'll probably find some enjoyment in it. It has Bf109s so it must be good right?! Try out for the beta and hope you get lucky. I got in it easily enough right around when it went live.

So I spent the previous week also playing Warplanes again in preparation for this week's event for that 5,000 WoT gold.
So far, my impression of the game is that it's much better now than it was a few months ago, with controls and interfaces being revamped to be more intuitive. This is most especially true of the one thing I had the most gripe with when I first tried out the game: the MKB controls. Previously, MKB was a nightmare where your mouse controlled a cursor that you dragged across the screen, and your aircraft followed it, which made maneuvering a nightmare. Now, the default MKB scheme has the mouse control the aircraft itself, with a secondary cursor that follows the craft denoting where your guns are actually pointing, a system that is much more intuitive and closer to most traditional MKB flight control schemes. This change has greatly improved my enjoyability of the game a lot, since now I don't feel like I'm fighting my mouse when controlling the planes. (You can still access the old control scheme in the options). The hangar interfaces themselves have also been reworked to be more similar in execution to World of Tanks, rather than previously where it only looked similar to WoT, but had strange quirks that made it unusual. Currently have 10 aircraft in my hangar, with the Tier V P-40 Warhawk as my highest tier aircraft.

The only issue I have is the fact that there are no server browsers. That would be more useful in general, allowing me to chose where I'd like to pick up a match.
