3. Title question. My friend, who speaks Chinese, says that the title says something like "murderer woman" in Chinese. I know this is unrelated to Higurashi, but is it true? 0_o

If you are talking about the title "Higurashi no naku koro ni", then its not true. Even the chinese title(s) (note the "s" because there are a few with minor variations) mean "When the cicadas cry/weep".

Ehh... Natsumi's arc was just an extra. It doesn't really tell that much that the game didn't already tell according to what I've read.

Sort of disproves some of the theories from my understanding. Especially the queen theory...since the "queen" is long dead by then.

I was just wondering about two things:

Was it ever revealed what exactly happened in Hinamizawa after Rika was killed by Shion or commited suicide? If the Queen Theory was correct everybody should go berserk after 48h but we know that didn't happen, yet at the same time Kei died in hospital because of his hallucinations so Rika's death did trigger Hinamizawa Syndrome in him. That would mean Queen Theory is just partially true. So the question is: did Takano knew this all along or was she simply wrong?

Was it ever officially clearified why in Matsuribayashi-hen both Rika and Hanyu knew what happened in the previous world and that Takano is the villain before june 1983 but then suddenly lost this knowledge?

1. The Queen Bee Theory is false. It's just a thing Takano made up so that she could gas the town after 48 hours. The times when Rika was killed by Shion/commited suicide, her body was not found until 48 hours after death, proving the theory wrong, so there was no 'Great Disaster'

I think that it was because even though Rika knew who the culprit was, she didn't seem to maintain many of her memories directly before her death for some reason, and as for Hanyuu not remembering for a while, I think it may be because of her taking the form of a human... Anyone feel free to correct me if I;m wrong

We can only assume that the syndrome did take place although the 48 hours time limit theory isn't absolute. The fact of the matter is that the arc was presented from K1's point of view, so we aren't exactly shown what happens after he dies. It's more likely that when Takano discovered of Rika's death, she created the gas explosion scenario like she tried to in the very last arc. However, there was no school club to stop her that time. That's what I'm guessing happened after K1's death.

In the final arc, she did forget who it was that killed her in the previous timeline, although she did have bits and pieces of information from the previous other arcs. If I remember right, Hanyuu reminded Rika later about what happened.

What triggered Keiichi's L5 was the events he went through, not Rika's death.

We do know what happens after Keiichi's death in the Sound Novel.

Well he seemed pretty sane in Sonozaki's mansion so to jump suddenly from L1 to L5 so fast is rather weird (but not impossible) and we do know Rika's death do have major impact on Hinamizawa's residents as now all of them are vulnerable to HS like if they left Hinamizawa.

The problem I have with this is the fact Irie and "Tokyo" believed in Takano's theory to the point they would order the whole village to be murdered. Irie would never allow that if he wasn't 100% sure it was true, and no sane politician would take such a high risk without being certain either. That's why I think there most be more to this. Maybe the way Rika is killed plays a role in triggering Hinamizawa Syndrome? Maybe she emits a special pheromone upon death and the fact she died inside a building and was quickly dumped into the well prevented a large scale madness?

True, but Rika clearly mentioned Takano's will in her talk with Hanyuu when Kei arrived in Hinamizawa but later completly forgot that Takano was the villain. That makes me think there was a reset in her memory at the beginning of june, same with Hanyuu. Not only that, Rika was surprised that Hanyuu took human form despite the fact she was the one who pretty much made her do that a while before.

Mine theory obout this is:
Hanyuu's ability to turn back time was't really getting weaker. In every world they returned to the time before Akasaka arrived in 1978, but for some reason their memories were resetting at some point later and the point of that reset was getting closer to Rika's death every time. That's why every next world was a little better than the previous one, Rika and Hanyuu were both working on that. The only question would be why this memory reset was occuring...

Maybe that whole "endless Hinamizawa" was a game arranged by someone (Umineko's witches?), and this memory reset getting closer to Rika's death was a rule established to set a time limit for Rika and Hanyuu?

First, in all arcs where the GHD occurred, Irie did not "order" it to happen. He was already dead from a supposed suicide.

Next, my roommate put things best as "Why do the stupidest things make sense in the darkness?" ( http://crfh.net/d/19990302.html ). They weren't absolutely certain, but the risks of an outbreak were serious enough, combined with the shock of suddenly being cut off from all information, pushed them to act.

I don't to a full extent understand Rena's bloodied stained hat scene at the ending. In a sense I guess my question is how did Rena die?

Tokyo is suppose to benefit when the gas happens. Perhaps the ability to gas and cover up is the plan they are waiting to execute.

What happens to Satoshi when Rika dies?
Likely killed off as well. Not just the yaminu are aware of satoshi, so is rest of Tokyo. With Irie gone, either Takano use him for next experiment or Yaminu gets rid of him to fulfill the coverup.

Rena was never part of the revenge. Maybe Keeping Rena alive was so that she would come back, and save Shion as in her plan to blame everything on Mion.

Rena is friends with everyone and likely would not help with Shion's plan, that is why Shion did not want to involve her and Rena did not do anything wrong to shion, in fact Rena help Shion by breaking Satoshi's secret and telling shion how Satoshi real felt about Satoko and what he is going through. It was probably that prodding that got shion more involved with Satoshi!!! So Rena was kinda the matchmaker!
