I say this movie brings out that Ichigo and Rukia couple big time more then

Couple or relationship/bond? I wouldn't say either since I wouldn't know. Whatever Tite is planning to the two I just hope they are together (not couple wise).

I think Ichihime is more a western thing anyways.

Yeah it is! But they're both cliche/typical anyways. Ichihime happens a lot in cartoons, and IchiRuki happens a lot in anime...I think.

But then again Ichihime does happen a lot in sappy shoujo. (YUCK!) So you have a point, but I always see IchiRuki type relationships in shonen.

Yeah I'm with you on this one.

IchiRukia reminds me so much of Sousuke/Kaname from FMP! (complete with abuse, awkward moments and long absences from one another).

In FMP I've always thought there were a lot of similarities between Tessa and Orihime (both are the sweet, soft spoken, beautiful girl who get tough when they need to). Tessa loves Sousuke in much the same way that Orihime loves Ichigo and even went so far as to openly confess her love for him (while he was awake no less).

Spoiler for FMP Novel Spoiler - To conclude my point:

Sousuke still turned her down and chose Kaname.

One reason why I detest Ichihime. All those shoujo animes did not do me good *shivers*.
