Not all noble phantasms are perfect.
That being said, while using reinforcement on them is possible, it's just as possible (as it is with regular everyday objects) that a poor job of it could do more harm than good. |

Also keep in mind if the object already has any sort of mana inside it, it will be incredibly difficult - if its possible at all - to manipulate it with one's own magic. Since I imagine most Noble Phantasms have some degree of magicness to them, I would imagine it would be near impossible to reinforce most of them.
Archer's case is a bit different, since he is making the Noble Phantasms himself. For starters, he can just make them the way they need to be, he doesn't really need to reinforce them, but theoretically I suppose its possible he could reinforce them thanks to the fact they were made from his own mana. Since he can choose to make them that way in the first place, I don't see why he would bother with reinforcement though. |

But only within the Unlimited Blade Works and those aren't real NP. I mean they are as far as effects are concern but they are not the real thing if you want to be precise.
So Archer can or can't reinforce the originals?

I'm fairly certain that the nature of Reinforcement would allow him to Reinforce original Noble Phantasms. It's just unlikely he'll be able to get his hands on one, and unlikely that he'll need to given his abilities and combat style.

If Archer did somehow get a Noble Phantasm that was attributed to him, though, I would assume he could reinforce it. |

Provided he understand the structure of the Noble Phantasm, and figures out what needs enhancing and what doesn't. I don't think this needs saying, but reinforcement isn't just pouring mana into something and somehow magically end up with enhanced stats, it's precision work.

As I recall it was only used twice. Once to defend against Gae Bolg in UBW, and once to cushion Excalibur in HF.
EDIT: Oh wait didn't Archer also use it after Shirou defeated Gilgamesh who was trying to take Shirou down with him? Someone else needs to confirm this tho. |
