Some wonderful music news I just found out.
Everyone's curious when the songs from episode 10 would be released. The answer is March 25th, 2009, since it'll be a special CD with the Limited Edition release of volume 5. I can't wait to own Takako's Junai Generation. Among others. |

Yes, the ending song is amazing. I ordered it from cdjapan and am waiting for it to arrive. At work, I listen to it on YouTube, although it is probably posted there illegaly. At least I have already paid for mine!
The ending song is really based on real Shinto prayers, according to this article I read. It certainly feels that way when I listen to it, like it is a real spiritual song. I feel that something is missing in the episodes where the ending song is not there. Between the opening and ending songs, we get both sides of Nagi and the whole series. It has a "crazy" side and a "shrine maiden" side, and it is not really complete without both of them. (Although it goes a bit randomly from one to the other and back, at least in this first season.) Between them, the songs bring back the atmosphere of the whole show. That is how I feel. |

Do I really have to listen to Jin's crap performance though? Bring on the Supermarket Shirigeya please! |

Funny how no one mentions anything so long after the soundtrack has been released.
Pretty much good old Kousaki this time as well, the unassuming, melodic tracks in the soundtrack such as Hajimari, and Hidamari are my favourites. So Yamamoto cried when he first sampled the tracks... |

Damn, Daitetsu's singing is good. Takako's awesome, but in an entirely different context. Sawashiro Miyuki turns on her full prowess after holding back in the series, way better! And there's the obligatory Shirigeya, Shirigeya... stuck in my head... |

I initially thought it's just a rip of what they sang in the anime, but it doesn't seem that way. I only bothered about Shirigeya at first.
Jin's singing here is definitely better. Still, a bit disappointed it's not full-song length. EDIT: Jin's song is my fav in the list now. Last edited by Peanutbutter; 2009-03-29 at 09:15. |

Was there a full version of Takako's karaoke song? I don't have time to search for it..
For some strange reason, even though there was a karaoke episode in the anime yet there were no mentioning of there being image songs for this series. |

I'm actually fairly cool on the Character Karaoke CD since the music without the characters takes away from the humor. Still, you gotta love Daitetsu's track for sheer awesomeness as well as Nagi and Takako's tracks which retain their sense of fun and hilarity.
Not exactly an album I'll be coming back to over and over.
