Glad that someone was able to compile which episode references (or used as a framing device) which movie. Movie nuts will definitely get more out of it, but I can't say that the series wasn't a waste of my time.

Now, to help expand the poor, POOR, trope page. This will take a while.

Sengoku Collection was a lot better than the source material deserved. I guess that's what happens when you give a bunch of talented animators free reign. The episodes varied as much in quality as much as they varied in tone and story. I think that a lot of viewers were fooled into thinking that this would have been some sort of harem comedy and so were either turned off to begin with, or annoyed that this wasn't the case. The first few episodes are also some of the weakest, which doesn't really help things.

It's too bad since there's pretty good quality here. Episodes 18 and 21 are probably my favorites here. The first for it's beauty, and the second for it's buddy-chemistry and all the Russian-ness. One piece of solace is that you can simply watch the good episodes and skip all of the weaker ones.

Now the question I ask myself is "is there going to be in the coming year on a new anime Sengoku period?" and Yuri is preferably haha

Given its sales so far, there's probably going to be a sequel to the Oda Nobuna show. It's genderbent Sengoku played relatively straight, but it's very much in the harem-ish category.

I think the first episode gave people the wrong impression, the convenience store guy made it look too much like the cliche harem crap.

I'm perfectly okay with the show remaining a cult classic hidden gem. I can get more creative with it that way.

Oda Nobuna isn't that bad because it acknowledges Sengoku history, and it tries to work that into the show. Unfortunately, the harem aspects are the worst part of the show. It's still watchable though.

To be fair the first three episodes were pretty weak. And it doesn't help that people were either frustrated that the plot wasn't kicking in.

Yes I can imagine that something more respect level "story" that Sengoku Otome collection or even yes the "Harem" around the hero and the thing I do not suporte

I came across this news yesterday when browsing Hyocchi's 2ch thread.

Happy birthday to Oda Nobunaga (December 21st) and Happy early birthday to Akechi Mitsuhide (December 22nd). Renewed portal site announcement.

Those dates are not the dates for their real life counterpart though.

I really enjoyed this anime, and I hope we can see more from it.
