in the human world she was rather cold and mean. in the realm of monsters where there is more danger and uncertainty then things get fuzzy. she isnt a perfect person by any means but that cold demeanor does help her survive the monster world where things are more unpredictable. killing creatures intelligent or dangerous monsters is easier to paint with a big brush in the monster world.

RL is harsh also but its a different cruelty than one filled with monsters.

EDIT: i had to go back and read her past before being sent to the otherworld. the methods she used in the old world are not as unlikely when surrounded by actual monsters. though humans can be bad themselves.

Pretty light episode, more of a reintroduction of the series again.

We got to meet Albis, a welcome sight in this season already imo. There's also Suphia. It's a good warm up for the rest of the season. New OP song is alright although I personally like the previous season's.

Rimuru is in his last month as teacher for the kids and dividing his time as a teacher and leader of Tempest with his new teleportation ability. As if Rimuru wasn't overpowered enough .

The new Opening is pretty fun, with a very adventure-y vibe as it showcases all the various and colorful characters in the cast and Rimuru fighting demons in the future. It also ends on a slightly ominous note with Rimuru in all black and looking pretty serious .

You can tell this was supposed to be the first proper episode of season 2 as it once again recaps the event of season 1, because right after a recap episode we of course need yet another, albeit brief, recap. And this is coming off the recap in the finale of season 1 .

Shuna and Shion are all in on getting their daily fix of Rimuru cosplay...some of which are also pretty girly, because with Rimuru's looks, it would be a waste not to .

I love how Shion's planner has a bunch of Rimuru doodles .

What better way to cap off the easygoing everyday lives of the citizens of Tempest than with a scene in the baths? Of course featuring a brief glimpse of all the girls !

We meet the Beasketeer delegates from Euraznia, featuring the busty yet serene Albis, the feisty yet cute Suphia, and the taciturn "runt" Grucius. They seem pretty powerful so far, even if Albis hasn't done anything yet, so hopefully this "mock battle" can get them on the side of our main cast .

Suphia and Shion engage in an epic brawl...and since Suphia is apparently a lycantrhope, I guess I can't call it a "cat fight" .

Youm has come a long way since season 1, but that unfortunately means he doesn't get to miss out on a fight in the premier .

The new Ending is pretty peaceful and upbeat, featuring Rimuru rolling alongside cute images of Milim and Shion (sorry Shuna). I'm just glad they got the animation for the Ed ready in time .

When you only get to hear Great Sage at the very end when she says the title of the next episode .

"Lycanthrope" in this series just means Therianthrope or Beastman. The only actual "wolfman" in this series we know about is

Actually the translation of the manga and LN messed up a little here. The ability that the demons use has slightly different kanji and is a somewhat different ability, so far only allowing short-range teleportation, while the one Rimuru got allows actual long-distance teleportation too.
Rimuru did not get it from Ifrit, he got when he "created" the Spirit for Alice, whose Element is "Space".

Looks like this season will include that bit last season about the golem they destroyed when they went to look for the faeries and that bit about how the color named demons are in the highest tier and Rimuru managed to tame one of them, which is nice I guess.

So the show went back in time a bit to fix the ending of the previous season. Not sure how long it will take to catch up, or whether Rimuru saying farewell to his students was even canon.

Mostly a set-up episode, but we got some cool fights near the end. It's probably a good thing Shion was so ticked off she took on that tiger girl because I doubt Youm could have handled her. He's definitely gotten stronger, but maybe not that strong.

I was surprised Milim and Shion of all people were featured in the ED. Either they'll play a big role in this arc, or they'll rotate girls.

So Albis is a snake leady who can hold her liquor? I think I'm even more in love .

Suphia can actually transform into a tiger form? Would've been kind of cool to see in her fight with Shion .

Nothing quite like trade to facilitate the making of more booze...

So, yeah, Benimaru is a bit of a battle maniac. Maybe not the most natural choice for an envoy compared to his sister or Rigur .

Time to go back to Dwargon! With Shion in two because she's not about to let the princess have solo quality time with Rimuru-sama .

Although while Rimuru peacefully arrives in Dwargon to see Gazel, Clayman is plotting from the shadows, with the green-haired woman from the Opening who is seemingly trying to get her heart back from him. What is Myulan's deal? And what is her connection to Youm that the Opening seems to hint at? Do they know each other? Will Youm be the one who ends up saving her ?

Uh, I didn't know Shion had that kind of side to her. The throwing tantrums like a baby one, I mean. Given that she can't control her own powers perfectly, it's probably a good idea to have her remain by Rimuru's side.
