The people who complain about the instances clearly can't do it right.

So has anyone been enjoying the latest guild wars 2 instance called Adventure box? There are also some small events related to that instance in the world. The instance is awesome! If you play the game right now the GW2 intro screen has been replaced by an 8 bit tune, and the instance is like playing mine craft or old Nintendo games...

Here is the commercial Anet made to promote this new event:

After seeing how much this game has developed since its release I have to say that no other mmo comes close when it comes to innovation and quality.

Seriously? No comments on the new Super Adventure Box? It is possibly the best thing they have come up with since the game released!

By the way the content is supposed to last until the end of april. Here is some game footage:

One of the comments got it right-- it's more 80s than the 80s.

Hilariously enough, the gw forums have complaints about the 8-bit music, they're such a bunch of buzzkills.

No shit... people find a reason to complain over the most insignificant things. I am sure that Anet is not like other developers who try to please every single whim in order to attract a bigger audience. They have a vision for the game and are sticking to it.

I personally love 8 bit music, I even have my own collection of 8 bit tunes in my music folder.

It's frankly amazing what they have done here, they have really captured the atmosphere of a classic 80s game with the instance.
Joined up with 2 friends and we took a jolly jaunt back in time and it was great fun.
Can't wait to try it with a full party for more shits and giggles.

I think GW2 just has too few skills. Or rather, the few skills you do get just don't do enough to warrant having so little of them in the first place. It's really hard for me to get back to playing it because I'm just not interested in playing the characters I have.

Elites are especially a problem as half of them are so bad you'd rather take a utility skill over them. Most of the rest are only good on specific builds. Of course there are a few that are so good that there's no reason to take any other elite. They're also pretty boring in general. The flashy ones are generally not very good (fiery great sword for example). They should be looking to DOTA2 Ultimates to get their elite ideas, ie, Chronosphere, Ravage, Black Hole, Shapeshift, etc.

So my elementalist is level 17 now. I figured things out, went D/D and now I don't die very often. Maybe I've died twice since I changed things up... even though the game is tab-target at its core, you certainly can't stand still and mash buttons.

I think the first instance is like at level 20 or something.

Anyway, if people want to contact me in-game and play together since guesting works now, I'm Ariene Ashley on Tarnished Coast.

The best thing about GW2, is because their vanilla game mechanisms so smooth, that leaves rooms for lots and lots modifications/patches/ updates.

I have just tried TERA recently, and admited that it was a much improvement from the other games its generation like Aion. However it's nothing when compare to GW2. GW2 almost felt like an offline games when it comes to the smoothness of sctions.

Has been a bit lagged when i retried through. Hope that it was just my network

Here is a video explaining the reasoning behind the making of super adventure box:

What's a good dye for blue and white?

And my Guardian dings 80 and They seem to be a really well balanced and fun class, a far cry from playing a necro, to say the least.

My guardian has all exotic knight's armor /w soldier runes. Those will be nice because conditions are what usually end me. My main weapon is a mystic forge'd berserker greatsword, and at this point I ran out of gold, so my switch is just a yellow scepter/focus for kiting. Trinkets are yellow berserker rings and poopy masterwork (damn overpriced earrings) berserker earrings, and finally a berserker ascended amulet from laurels.

Though at least I got the looks on the necro to my satisfaction, so I pretty much completed the character there.

None whatsoever apart from town clothes. All they are making are weapon skins.

Btw, any guardians try out a one handed sword? It seems to have very high damage potential with the 20% crit trait, though it does lack the mobility of the greatsword.

I use a 1-H sword with my defensive tanking build. Sword/Focus and Mace/Shield.

Otherwise, for normal DPS roaming I use Greatsword/Hammer.

There are offensive builds you can use the 1-H sword with, but I prefer 2-H weapons for my DPS builds.
