lol Mochizou, you cry like a girl.
I went into the latest ep ready to joke about how it was a decent side dish to Animation Do's sexy swimming CM but damn, Tamako's father's segments got me good. That alone easily makes this possibly the strongest episode of the series so far. Really sweet and sentimental T^T. Too bad it looks like next week we're going back to high school antics again. Those are easily the dullest parts (unless they're twirling batons at Dera again). |

Lol, I guess Tamako's "shocku!" expression was inherited from both her parents ! Definitely loving the three different romance route of the Kitashirakawa family Well technically one of them is Mochizou's but nevermind.
The mystery of Tamako's music was finally revealed and it didn't disappoint Every parent was once an awkward teenager in love Mochizou is such a nice brother-in-law Its been too long since him and Tamako has a paper-cup session And not to mention 'betraying' his father's side for Tamako (though still a long way to be accepted as a son-in-law ) The ending was nice- Mochizou is such an otome As for Anko... Is this the makings of a Osananajimi rabu drama preparation settings for high school romcom ?!

Baka Anko. Should've asked Yuzuki for a marriage promise instead.
And to be fair, Mochizou has always remembered Tamako's birthday... just that he never had the guts to give ANY of his presents. Stupid git, I bet things between him and Tamako would've been so much smoother if he started early. XD

Best describes this episode.9 Ep.9 Yet again KyoAni amazed me and caught me of guard on the opening I thought it was a new character then saw Tamako's dad face young, OMG! Flashback! The Anko x Yuzuki is a downer here dragged the episode in the middle, but the opening and ending of the show made it an excellent watch. Tamako's dad stole the show with his past and it was almost an all star cast, Mochizou being a big bro to Anko really upped his character development here, Choi doing her dance was cute as well, all girls helping Tamako out was great to see, most especially Kanna with the snake mochi laughed at that part and also made me smirk when Anko and Choi's face where compared to mochi. Man I loved the ending song better than what we have. Like said in the previous comments I'd like to see a spin off where it's set in the past with Tamako's dad and mom. Seems next episode is a Midori episode again or probably they'll do this sudden shift who knows? 9/10 Excellent!

^That is why I want a spin off where both father's where young. Also wait till Mochizou is at his later 40's, then we will see the the "changes".
Edit: Is it me or Anko's love interest making Anko less interesting to me even though she's cute.

That was indeed a really nice backstory. Caught me by surprise a bit at the beginning too since there is no hint (e.g. color palette). The fact that she's already gone add a touch of bittersweet. Just the right amount for me. Now I want to see Tamako's grandfather backstory.
The Anko and her crash part doesn't really interesting to me also. I think that is because we barely see any of Yuzuki's character. His whole existance is "Anko's crash." So it's hard to put invest any emotion on it. Based on the amount of interactions we saw I think it's actually more fun spining Anko x Mochizou out of them. Well, maybe five years down the line. |

I totally expected it to rain once she started that dance. It goes without saying but I still feel like I should mention Kanna was awesome as usual. "I plan to usurp the throne before we gradute".

That line by Kanna was great. Kanna showed a lot of character this episode, but I honestly loved that part more than any of the rest.

And Kanna is just awesome. She's pretty much the polar opposite of Tamako. Was anyone else amused by the fact that Mochizou was trying to give Anko's love life a boost, while he himself hasn't made much progress with his own?
