A bit late but... I'd like you to elaborate, please
I wrote a bit back in this post, so I'll just expand on that.
Spoiler for length and spoilers:
Kyousuke and Kuroneko vibes started for me in the second chapter, where Kyousuke has to explain the date to her. p.113
Kyousuke: That was because Kirino... At that point, I found myself shaken from the words coming out of my mouth, and my face went red. Seeing my consternation out of the corner of her eye, it was as if this flustered state was passed along to Kuroneko as well. Kuroneko: Why are you blushing so much? Are you really that happy that you were able to go on a date with your sister? Kyousuke: N..Of course not! Th...there's nothing... Our current conversation...that it's as if a boyfriend is giving his girlfriend excuses for cheating on her, that it's like we were going out - there's no way I could tell her that!
Though the main thing he's pondering at this point is what to make of Kirino's declaration of "I'll ask my real boyfriend next time" and why he feels so annoyed at it.
Kyousuke pays a lot of attention to Kuroneko in chapter 3, calling her cute, noticing when she wears contacts or not etc (p.142-3)
During preparation, Kyousuke mentions that he would like to see Kuroneko in casual wear other than her Gothic Lolita stuff (p.143-4). As a result, Kuroneko goes to comiket in a white one-piece that Kirino helped her pick out the week before...and Kyousuke can't stop thinking how cute she is, and even praises Kirino for her clothing sense.. (NB: this white one-piece and straw hat outfit is something that the main characters of Kirino's favourite games wear quite often...)
And when Kirino makes the off-hand comment of "there's no way you two could be going out" (p.146), Kuroneko and Kyousuke exchange glances, with Kyousuke noting that he just can't agree with Kirino's statement because too much has happened. Kirino notices the weird atmosphere and gets a bit irritated.
From chapters 2-4, he constantly notes how gentle her voice is - though whether he does it consciously or not is debatable.
The best stuff is in the fourth chapter though. (^_^)
And of course, there's a weird atmosphere between Kyousuke and Kirino too. I personally don't read it as there being a romantic attraction between then, but different people will take it how they want. We'll have to see what Fushimi-sensei does in volume 8...
I suppose now's a good time as any to post my thoughts on the potential pairings...
QFT. That's the impression I'm getting.
Spoiler for vol.7 - thoughts on the pairings:
Kyousuke doesn't need to explain his decision, as far as I'm concerned. I could see it coming a mile away, right from the time Kuroneko spotted them on the date in chapter 1.
Kyousuke x Kuroneko

(ch4) Kyousuke buys a necklace for Kuroneko
"because it'll be troublesome for you to carry around lots of change, right?)
The important scenes between these two are incredibly cute. We don't know what Kuroneko's thinking during these scenes, of course, but Kyousuke is often flustered and confused by what she says and does.
Kuroneko definitely likes Kyousuke. The reason she called him out in volume 5 was probably to confess...but Kirino's return made her consider whether she could bear losing her friend if she pursued a relationship with Kyousuke. In the first heart-felt scene with him, she clearly declared that she was going to do her best to keep both.
Kyousuke x Kirino (i.e. the incest route)
I really don't see it. His feelings for Kirino seem to be somewhat like Ron Weasley's regarding his sister, Ginny, in The Order of the Phoenix and The Half-Blood Prince, but he also gets really irritated when he feels like he's being looked down upon or compared to others. He really is a siscon, but I don't sense any romantic feelings at all (the comparison is the Akagi siblings, and I don't sense any romantic feelings there either - though I'll have to read the other volumes to check). Of course, Harry felt something similar and tried to put it off as brotherly feelings...
We don't know what Kirino feels, except that she does want Kyousuke to be more concerned about/pay more attention to her. The reason is unknown at present, but it's clear that she doesn't hate Kyousuke, despite how much she bullies and puts him down. Clear brocon.
Kyousuke x Ayase
Just about impossible after that what Kyousuke thought in chapter 2.
Kyousuke x Saori
After that scene in chapter 4, I really wonder if something could have happened had they both decided to pursue it!
Kyousuke x Manami
Based on this volume (she appears only once and apparently passed the baton on to Ayase, even though Kyousuke studied with her whilst preparing for comiket! p.155), she's out of the picture. But I guess I wouldn't count on her being down for the count.
=====
Finally, I don't know if he's ever said it before, but Fushimi Tsukasa (the author) doesn't like Kirino at all.
(In the interview, they're talking about the game and the routes that will be possible)
Spoiler for length and vol.6 spoilers:
=> ———沙織の正体が判明されましたが、ifの可能性として京介と沙織ルートはあるのでしょうか?
----Saori's real self has been revealed: is it possible that Kyousuke will have a Saori route in the game?
伏見:秘密です(笑) Fushimi: That's a secret (laugh)
三木:伏見さんが『俺の妹』のキャラの中で好きなのは沙織って言っていませんでしたっけ? Miki: Fushimi-san, you've said before that Saori is your favourite "Ore no Imouto" character, right?
伏見:そうですね。お気に入りではありますけれど、自分の好き嫌いでひいきはしません。一番出番の多い桐乃は、いまだに大嫌いです。 Fushimi: Right, I did. She's my favourite, but I don't favour characters by who I like and don't like. After all, the character with the most appearances, Kirino, is still someone I really hate.
———まだ!?(笑) あれだけデレるようになったのに、まだやっぱりムカつく女なんですね。
-----Still!? (laugh) Even though she's become a bit more "dere", she really is someone who pisses you off, huh?
伏見:腹立つくそがきだと思っています。私が桐乃のことを好きになるときは、『俺の妹』が終わる時かもしれない です。 Fushimi: I think she's an annoying spoiled brat. The time I come to like Kirino may be the time that "Ore no Imouto" ends.
一同:おおー!! Everyone: Right--!!
Also, he didn't plan everything right from the start:
———桐乃が初期からだいぶデレていますが、今の二人の関係性の変化は予想されていましたか?
----Kirino has really become more "dere" compared to the initial stage: did you anticipate the change in the siblings' relationship from the start?
Fushimi: At the start, I really hadn't thought of it. I came up with the ending to the first volume. When writing the second, I came up with the ending to the second. When writing 3, I thought about what would happen at the end of 4. The time everything changed was at the intense meeting after the end of 4, I realised "Yikes! This story is still continuing! What should I do?" That was when I started thinking a little about what would happen in the future.

Back with more of the interview later.
Completely agree with your view on the relationship pairs. I also don't get why people would think there would be incest in this series. The author has stated since volume 1 that this series is about comedy series, in the special Chinese version postface, he even specifically stated that it is a comedy series in typical family about a sibling re-connect with each other.
Having Incest will not make this series a comedy, not to mention in volume 4 postface, the author states that there are ELEMENTRY SCHOOL readers who wrote letters to him along with MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS with older brother. Japan is fairly open about sex, but not THAT open.
As for the relationships:
Spoiler for My takes on relationships in the book.:
Kyousuke x Kuroneko
The most developed in the series, might even argue it is more developed than Kirino. Those who think that this relaion is rushed, might need to re-read volume 3 and 5. while V5 is obvious a Kuroneko book, V3 is really more about Kuroneko than Kirino, it is also the book Kyosuke start to consider Kuroneko and Saori as his close friends and not Kirino's otaku friends that he helped to introduce.
Also, keep in mind that V5 is perhaps the one book that covers the largest time frame. And during that time Kyosuke and Kuroneko have many behind the scene meeting while they were making the Kuso Game. It also clearly show how his view of her changes as time goes by.
The only thing worries me is the jinx that the first girl the main character dates is usually not the ending girl unless she is the de facto main heroine.
Kyousuke x Kirino (i.e. the incest route)
While it's clear Kirino is a bro-con, it is also just as obvious that Kyosuke doesn't think of her as more than a sister. Unless one would completely believe that he is lying throughout the entire series, there is no evidence showing that his have romantic interest toward his sister.
Through the series he has always acted under the fact that he was helping/protecting his sister, while states that if Kirino is not his sister, he would not give it a sh*t.
It he a sis-con, maybe, be than again the author gave us Akagi sibling who obviously are brother-con and sister-con in contrast to Kyosuke's situation.
While this is the main plot of the series, I can think of anyone would believe this end will not anyway other than Kyosuke finds out what kept them distance all these years than than try to fix it, while Kirino accept the fact that Kyosuke will always be his brother and look out for her even if he might seem distant at time.
Kyousuke x Ayase
Kyosuke is obsess with her look, (and her personality, at least in the beginning). I never thought this had chance, but it is still my second favorite pair due to potential amusement factors.
Look at the summaries in v7, it looks that Kyosuke finally decide to give her up, oh well, guess I'll just have wait for the PSP game to play the Ayase end.
Kyousuke x Saori
I did like this pair and was hoping for more Saori in earlier volumes. After volume 6 I thought there was a potential for Saori end, although I think she is too late in the fight and at most will only be an obstacle for Kuroneko to overcome, again, wait for the PSP game for her end.
Kyousuke x Manami
I don't really like her character. [not sure why, since I'm not oppose to girl-next-door, and healing type characters, in fact those are usually my galge preference] Have to admit that anime earns her many points but to me she is still behind Kuroneko, Saori, Sena, and even Ayase.
Anyway, she was going to be my logical choice for Kyosuke ending pair, but throughout the series there is ZERO advance in how Kyosuke think of her nor their relations, still she would be the only threat to Kuroneko x Kyosuke enternity.
Kyousuke x Sena
Is there any doubt? the only way this would work is Kyosuke became a M or Bi, and they ends up in a 3p relationship.
As an anime-only watcher I'd like to ask out of curiousity, will there be any interaction between Kuroneko and Ayase?
None I can remember of. Ayase still avoids ACG unless it is related to Kirino. The only interaction I remember other than Kyosuke is Minami, who somehow became a really close friend to Ayase.
Wow. Seems like the majority is hoping for a Kuroneko end. ):
Hearing the opinions of everyone confuses me. I'm hoping for a Kirino end, and someone will write something that will give me hope. But then following up on that someone else will have a totally practical argument to trump it which then makes me sad because it's so reasonable that I could also see that as a possibility. And so the cycle continues.
But here's the thing, I feel like this series is pulling in two opposite directions. But the one that is pulling opposite to the wincest end seems to contradict everything about the series itself IMO. When I first saw this series my immediate thoughts were that it was going to be about incest(which upset me at the time, but it has totally converted me), the title implies that there is a 50-50 chance that is the route this series could take. Regardless of whether or not you want the series to end with kyosuke/kirino, incest probably came to mind for most people, and then you watched it to clarify, right? Well, when I think about it that way, I think the series as a whole attracted many, many fans of that particular genre along with the people who think/know it is a wholesome series about a brother and sister's relationship. I think when you create that kind of a fanbase it'd be kind of tough to deviate from that. Also, if we're following the status quo, Kirino is the main character next to Kyosuke, the main characters usually end up together.
I dunno though, just throwing some thoughts out there. I'm just a little bit depressed that the author supposedly hates Kirino. D: More evidence against her getting Kyosuke in the end. -sigh-
Also, about that argument that Kirino is opposed to incestuous relationships and not to mix up the 2-D and 3-D world. Kirino is a 2-D character. So she can't use that argument. xD;;
Well, the thing about the Ruri route is that it had a lot of support when the author put questionaires in volume 4. Basically, it can be argued that the Kuroneko fans pushed for this particular situation.
Minami Period...
No Incest but a great sibling bond would be interesting
However I like Kuroneko but a graet point of development for her character would be for her to get out of her shell and meeting new people and a new love.
Minami fits Kyousuke the best in my oppinion the plain ordinary couple.
Need to faster master Jap so that I can actually read first hand this excellent series.
Well, the thing about the Ruri route is that it had a lot of support when the author put questionaires in volume 4. Basically, it can be argued that the Kuroneko fans pushed for this particular situation.
The questionaire result is just not surprising, popularity wise on 2ch (Just an approximate...), Kirino ~= Kuroneko >> Ayase >> Manami >> everyone else. So, with Fushimi tend to write the novel base on popularity, yeah, 50-50 chance between Kirino and Kuroneko.
Knowing Kyousuke and his way of choosing girl, though...
Meganekko - Manami, Sena, Saori (Although Kyousuke like the no-glass version of Saori...)
Big bust - Sena, Saori
Long Black Hair - Kuroneko, Ayase, Saori
Imouto - Sena, Kuroneko, Kirino
Sena and Saori are 3/4. Neither really have that big of chance, though...
Sena - Competitions, not enough development, and weird personality
Saori - Feel more like friends than koibi, and any development are way too late in the game.
Here are some if not all the translated parts of Vol. 7 that I have collected from lurking
Beware FULL spoilers ahead:
Spoiler for Part 1 From Sergio:
“Sorry for making you wait” says Kyousuke’s girlfriend. Kousaka Kirino.
“Let’s go!” replies Kyousuke “You look good in those clothes”
“Really? Thanks! You also look cool… I’ll call you Kyousuke. That’s what lovers do” suggests Kirino, blushing. “So Kyo… Kyousuke, where are we going?”
To understand what’s going on we need to go back in time.
“Be my boyfriend” those were Kirino’s words. Kyousuke heard them, unable to reply. This is bad. Really bad.
“Don’t you want to?”
“Not that, I mean… Kirino… I’m your brother? or… do you actually… love me?”
Kirino gets as red as a beetroot. “Of course not! How would I… how would I… love you!!”
It turns out she wants him to pretend he’s her boyfriend.
“Pretend! You should have said so from the beginning. Don’t say something so ambiguous!”
She slaps him.
“You only got it wrong because you are a siscon!”
Damn! I don’t want to remember that, it makes me feel like killing myself!
Some time later, they meet one Fujima Misaki, the director of a modeling agency who wants to give Kirino an exclusive contract, which means going to Europe. For some reason, this woman reminds Kyousuke of Feito (the woman who stole Kirino’s novel in volume 3) Of course, Kirino needs an excuse and told her she has a boyfriend so she can’t leave. Kyousuke remembers what Kirino told Ria: her place is Japan. Also, it might be difficult for her to get their father’s permission after just running away from the US.
“I’m Akagi Kyousuke, pleased to meet you”
“Pleased to meet you. Kyousuke-kun, break up with Kirino, will you?”
“Ha?”
“I’ll give you money. 500,000 yen” [6000 dollars]
“Really??”
Without Misaki noticing, Kirino hits him with her elbow.
“Sorry, I mean, this is not a matter of money. I love Kirino!” after hearing this, Kirino stamps on his foot, and he notices she’s blushing. To prove his point. Kyousuke places his arm around her shoulder. She mutters “sick!”
Misaki says she won’t give up. She changes the subject and very suspiciously asks Kirino to attend a fashion show she’s organizing the following day. If she sees any dress she likes, she will give it to her as a present. Kirino looks very enthusiastic, but of course Kyousuke has seen through her and butts in.
“Sorry, tomorrow is a little… we’re going on a date, you know”
Kirino looks at him as if saying “what the hell are you saying” but she finally realizes his intentions.
“Oh, yes, of course my honey (‘-^*)” [the smiley was in the novel xD]
That evening, Kyousuke is lying on the floor while Kirino is stepping on his knee.
“So you took the chance to sexually harass your little sister! Putting your arm around her shoulder in a public place! Did you really become a pervert while I was away?”
Well, he didn’t become a pervert, it’s just that the number of perverts around him increased.
That evening, Kirino gets a call from a co-worker: apparently Misaki wants to trail Kirino and Kyousuke during their date tomorrow, even ditching the fashion show. This means they do have to pretend they are lovers once again, but at least they know she will be following them.
Now in the present, they meet in a park and Kirino tells Kyousuke to choose where to go. He doesn’t really know where to go.
“Well, it’s very typical, but what about a movie?”
She stamps on his foot. “That’s a line from an eroge you just played the other day!!!” However, she says so while they are walking arm in arm, so if Misaki is watching, they do look like lovers. And by the way, Kirino accepts the offer. But suddenly they bump into Manami.
“Kyou-chan, Kirino-chan?”
This is bad! Kyousuke tries to explain it.
“Manami, this is…”
“Let’s go, Kyousuke” says Kirino and they leave. “You’ll explain it to her later, Misaki may be watching us”
After a while, Kirino suddenly laughs.
“Did you see her face?”
“Don’t laugh at my osananajimi!”
“I wonder if she saw us as lovers” says she, giggling.
“What do you mean?!”
“Who knows…”
Kirino wants to watch a romance movie, but Kyousuke can’t stand the idea of watching such a movie with his little sister and suggests watching an anime movie, “Little Sisters”. After the movie, Kirino is really enthusiastic about the super-cute lolis in the movie, but Kyousuke tells her to shut up, as Misaki may be trailing them (although they haven’t spotted her so far)
They are hungry now, and Kirino decides to go to a cake store, which she often visits with Ayase. There is actually a special menu for lovers, including two drinking straws. Kirino is looking at it, and Kyousuke says there’s no way they are going to order that. Kirino replies that Misaki may be watching. However, Kyousuke won’t give in. After all, even if she was his real girlfriend he wouldn’t do something so embarrassing. Kirino finally gives in.
“Kirino?”
This is bad!! None other than Kirino’s friend Kanako is suddenly there. And she must have seen his face when she came over… although fortunately, it looks like she has totally forgotten about Kyousuke. In fact she never even realized that he was her “manager” when she cosplayed as Meruru.
“Kirino! So you really had a boyfriend! But don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone!”
“What are you doing here?” asks Kirino.
“Flirting”
They notice that indeed she’s with her prey… none other than Bridget, the British loli they met during the Meruru cosplay event. Of course, Kanako hasn’t become a voracious lolicon, at least not yet. She was trying to pick boys up when she met Bridget. Kirino almost goes crazy when she sees the cute Bridget (she even got a DVD of the event). Of course, they wonder if she’s met Bridget before and Kirino has to say that Ayase (who works for the same company) showed her pictures of the event. Anyway, Bridget wants to go to Animate but Kanako refuses. Why should she look after a kid? Bridget starts crying.
“KANAKO, YOU MADE BRIDGET-CHAN CRY? I’LL FUCKING KILL YOU!!!!!!”
Everyone freezes, looking at Kirino. Kanako wonders why she’s getting mad at her, if she’s just met Bridget.
“It’s just… you shouldn’t bully little girls! Next time I’ll tell Ayase”
“No, anything but that!”
“Bridget-chan” adds Kirino “next time I’ll take you to Animate”
“Kirino, don’t push yourself. After all you don’t like that disgusting otaku crap”
“Oh, of course not, ha ha ha”
“That’s not disgusting crap!” cries Bridget
After cooling down, Bridget asks Kirino and Kyousuke if they are really lovers, and of course they say they are.
“It’s just… I like this stuff about love… it’s just, I’ve never experienced it” Even if several boys have confessed to her, she has never really experienced love. “So please, onee-chan, tell me about it!” Bridget is really cute when blushing, and Kirino is drooling.
“You can ask me anything!!” says an enthusiastic Kirino.
Kanako however has other question… “Kirino, how can you like a plain boy like him?” Waa, what’s this, all of a sudden.
“Well, he’s gentle… and very dependable” and she whispers to Kyousuke that it’s only an act “And he loves me a lot”
“And what do you like about her” says Kanako looking at Kyousuke.
“Ahm… her face?”
“What?” Kirino is angry “Only that? Not that I have a cute personality, that you admire the way I think, that I’m considerate to others?”
“Well…” says Kyousuke after a few seconds “I like that you are passionate about what you like. And thanks to you, I’m having a lot of fun in life” In fact, he got new friends thanks to Kirino, and also their own relationship improved a lot. Still, Kanako mutters that they don’t look like lovers before leaving.
Now Kirino is really angry after what Kyousuke said, and she won’t even walk arm in arm with him, even if Misaki may be trailing them. They decide to go to a game center. Hopefully they can play some game without having to speak much, since Kirino is really pissed off. He can’t understand women.
Kirino often goes there, with both her “normal” and her “otaku” friends. And in fact, she sees some classmates of her on one of the floors, so they go to another, where there’s a photo booth… for couples. And Kirino insists on going into it. And to Kyousuke’s surprise and horror, she chooses a heart-shaped frame for the picture. If this picture was seen by someone, they’d be in deep shit.
“If we’re pretending to be lovers, we have to do it right” says Kirino, grabbing his arm.
Just as they are going out, they meet… Kuroneko, who becomes absolutely petrified.
“That’s the couple booth… what the hell are you doing?” She even drops a coin she had in her hand. She’s totally confused.
“No, this is a misunderstanding…” Kyousuke tries to explain the situation to her. “We’ll explain it to her later, Misaki may be watching” Kirino whispers to him. “You say that, but I don’t see her here” “You have no power of attention”
However, Kirino looks totally amused, she’s actually grinning. What a sadist!
“What’s going on here?” stutters Kuroneko.
“Kyousuke. Should we tell her about our relationship?”
“No, you better not…” says Kuroneko.
“We’re on a date! Let’s go, Kyousuke ♡”
After leaving, Kyousuke suddenly starts laughing.
“Well, after all there’s not much difference between you being my little sister, and my girlfriend”
Wow, what the hell did just I say????
“You’re disgusting, you’ve been playing too many eroge”
At home that evening, Kirino gets a call from Misaki letting her know she’s giving up on her. Kirino suddenly reproaches Kyousuke for trying to molest her during the date, using eroge lines, and even telling her to shut up when she was talking about the movie. Kyousuke also gets angry, after all she asked him to pretend they were lovers.
“So if you have any complaints, go and tell your boyfriend!”
“You were my boyfriend today!”
“I will never pretend to be your boyfriend ever again!”
She hits him.
“Idiot. I shouldn’t have asked you to do it. Next time, I will rely on my real boyfriend” she cries and leaves.
“….. real boyfriend?”
Spoiler for Part 2 From Sergio:
“Do you have something to do now?”
“……… NOTHING AT ALL!!!!”
“I have something very important to tell you, oniisan” says Ayase on the phone, “could you come to my house now?”
Wait, wait, wait, Kyousuke, calm down. It’s Ayase that we are talking about. It’s a trap. That’s for sure.
“Oniisan… you can’t?”
“I can, of course I can!!”
Most likely it’s a trap, but who could say “no” to a really cute girl if she invited you to her house?
In no time, Kyousuke arrives at Ayase’s house. Her mother is working in her studio, and Ayase takes him to her room. Kyousuke is all excited.
“Oniisan, could you please extend your hands?”
“Yeah, like this?”
Before Kyousuke realizes what’s happening, a pair of shiny handcuffs are locking his hands.
“What is this????”
“Handcuffs”
“I know that. Why are you doing this?”
“Because you’re repulsive and I don’t like you being here”
“The words you say and your face don’t match. You have played with my maiden heart! I thought you were going to confess to me!”
“I spoke as I always do. And don’t look at me so defiantly. I could call my mom now and say that you are a pervert who stalks me and who has broken into my room begging me to handcuff him”
“Fine… I give up, tell me what the matter is”
Ayase shows Kyousuke the picture he took with Kirino the other day. But… how can she have it, when he kept all the pictures and hid them in one of his porn books? Does she have supernatural powers?
“I warned you not to lay a hand on Kirino”
Kyousuke realizes that he’s in trouble, handcuffed and helpless.
“Please, don’t kill me!!!!”
“Don’t be afraid, I won’t do anything to you… but, that’s so cruel, oniisan!!”
“If you didn’t intend to do anything to me, you wouldn’t have handcuffed me in the first place!”
Kyousuke realizes he has no option but to quickly tell Ayase what happened if he wants to save his life. In fact, it turns out that Ayase had heard about Misaki and she herself was going to do something about it, because she didn’t want to lose Kirino again. She finally believes Kyousuke.
“So please, if you understand, take off the handcuffs”
Ayase starts unlocking them.
“Why do you grin like the moment I touch your hands to unlock them? So disgusting!”
“It’s not what you think. It’s just, this situation is very embarrassing”
“Why embarrassing?”
“So for you handcuffing people isn’t something weird?”
“MOOOOOOM, A PERVERT HAS…”
“Wait, wait wait!! Don’t tell her!!!”
Ayase laughs. “I’m not so evil, it was a joke… wait, DON’T HIDE IN MY BED!!”
Ayase starts hitting Kyousuke with the handcuffs.
After calming down, she suddenly handcuffs him again… because she’s going to serve some tea, and she’s sure that while she’s away, he will open her drawers and put her underwear on his head. After Ayase returns, she finally takes off the handcuffs and it’s Kyousuke’s time to ask Ayase a question.
“A question? Sexual harassment again?”
“I’ve never done that!”
“No? You do that every time we meet! Last time you asked me to marry you!!”
“That was a serious proposal full of love”
“That’s… materially impossible!”
“So cruel, what if I kill myself?”
Kyousuke looks really depressed!
“But oniisan… it’s true that the first time I met you, I liked you a little”
“REALLY!!!!!!????????????????”
“That was at first. Now I hate you. But recently… it’s true that you seem to be a kind person, I sometimes feel like I want to be friends with you. But I hate you”
“Let’s say you never saw us last year when we were coming back from Comiket. Would you be my girlfriend now?”
“I didn’t say that much! Don’t fantasize! And be careful of what you do to me. I always tell Manami-san about you”
In fact, both girls became for some strange reason friends, and it was through Manami that Ayase learned about their date.
“Does Kirino have a boyfriend?”
“What, what , what? That’s a lie! What do you mean. That’s impossible!!” Ayase grabs him by the collar.
Kyousuke tells her about Kirino’s words.
“I think she was just angry… it’s true Kirino is very popular with the boys, but she says she won’t have a boyfriend that isn’t three years older than her. Although she’s even popular with them… so technically she could get a boyfriend any time she wanted. But I don’t think she has one… but, could you find out for sure?”
Ayase is worried, but she thinks that’s not the case. However, it’s true that she doesn’t know everything about Kirino — for example, Kirino hid from her that she was an otaku. Therefore, Kyousuke wants to ask Kirino’s other friends if she has a boyfriend. He decides to go to the Computer Game Club to meet Kuroneko. However, only the president is there, and by the way it stinks in there, after all it’s a hot summer day. Sena and Ruri come in after a while, and they immediately complain about the smell. Kyousuke tells them that it’s not him that stinks, but the president.
“So why is his smell on you?” says Sena, who starts having her yaoi fantasies.
Kyousuke and Ruri don’t speak — he wonders what she’s thinking after seeing him and Kirino. After ventilating the room, they talk about the upcoming project — they are going to sell the RPG game Kyousuke, Ruri and Sena made on the second day of Comiket. Sena says she wants to forget about that game, which got panned on 2ch, but Ruri says that no matter what others say, this is something they created. And even a few people said they liked it. How are they supposed to tell them that the game is actually a failure?
Thus ends the day, and for the first time in a while Ruri and Kyousuke go back together… but they don’t speak. She’s clearly angry.
“Listen…”
“What is it, siscon pervert who makes his own sister call him ‘Kyousuke’ and goes around flirting with her?”
Kyousuke explains it to her.
“A fake date, huh? Just like in those imouto eroge you love”
“Wait! I only play them because Kirino forces me!”
“Oh, are you sure? I thought that that’s only an excuse you keep repeating yourself since you actually grew to like them”
“Listen, does Kirino have a boyfriend?”
“Apart from you?”
“Don’t tease me! I’m serious. She said she had one”
Kuroneko laughs. “What a siscon you are. But I don’t think she has one”
“Oh, really?”
“But if she had one, what would you do?” she says whispering in his ear.
“I don’t know! And what about you?”
“That is an interesting hypothesis. Kirino is always very enthusiastic about what she does, so she’d probably spend less time with her friends if she had a boyfriend. That would make Saori very lonely. But that would also make me very happy”
That evening Kyousuke calls Saori because he wants to not only go to Comiket with them, but also he wants to make a doujinshi with Kuroneko, Kirino and Saori.
“What a wonderful idea” says Saori, who was surprised to hear this proposal coming from Kyousuke.
“Hey, Makishima-san~ your true self appeared” says Kyousuke when Saori forgets about her otaku persona.
Just after talking to Saori, Kyousuke gets a text message from his friend Akagi Kouhei.
“Where do you think I am?” says the title… “in my sister’s closet”
What is that pervert saying? Is he confessing, or maybe bragging?? He gets another message.
“I think my sister may have a boyfriend. After finding the catalog with the sex doll that looked just like her, she got angry at me and said something that implied she had a boyfriend. I was trying to find some clue, but she returned while I was in her closet. She’s now playing yaoi games”
Akagi wants help from Kyousuke. He gets another text message.
“My sister has a gimp suit in her closet!!!”
“That’s what you bought for her at the sex shop!!!”
“Oh, you are right. Damn, that scared me!! By the way, Kousaka, when can I borrow that porn DVD we bought together, with the actress that looked just like Tamura [Manami]?”
“I could call your sister now and tell her to check the closet. So losing your 980 yen is a small price to pay”
“You win… wait, my sister has started to move on her chair!!”
“If you want my help to peek at your own sister doing that, I’m afraid I can’t help you”
“No, she’s not doing that! I mean, she took a picture. It could be her boyfriend? I can’t see”
“Akagi, what would you do if your sister really had a boyfriend?”
“MURDER”
“But Akagi, your sister is… your sister”
After all, one day they will get a boyfriend, they will marry, and they will distance themselves from their brothers. But then again, there will be no need for their brothers to look after them right? For Kyousuke, Kirino leaving for the US just felt too soon. He gets Akagi’s reply.
“I’d really beat her boyfriend up. Seriously, I want her to be happy, I know that, but I can’t accept the idea of someone taking her away from me”
Kyousuke thinks about himself. On that floor there are only his room and Kirino’s. Wouldn’t it be great if things remained the same for ever? And what about Akagi? He must think like that. There’s no way he can actually have romantic feelings for his sister, can he? And what does Sena think about this? And… Kirino?
Kyousuke almost forgets about Akagi, but he gets one final message.
“My sister has found me!”
“I won’t ever forget you, Akagi”
It’s already pretty late when Kirino returns. 6:30 pm, very unusual for her. Kyousuke asks her where she was, but she says it has nothing to do with him. She tries to pass, but he grabs her hand.
“It hurts! No seriously, you’re hurting me. What do you want?”
And why is he even grabbing her hand? Why is he acting like that? He finally release her hand.
“Do you have a boyfriend?”
“What, are you jealous? Hahaha, how revolting”
“But do you?”
“Who knows”
“I just can’t understand you”
“And I can’t understand you either. By the way, next time I’ll introduce you to my boyfriend”
Spoiler for Climax part summary:
Spoiler for Part 3 From 4chan:
Kyosuke returned to the living room. His mother was nowhere to be seen. As he stepped in, Mikagami gazed in bewilderment of the approaching Kyosuke. Before Kirino could finish asking what Kyosuke was doing, Kyosuke bowed before her and apologized. Kirino is caught off guard by this and tells him with voice shaking that it'll only trouble her more by doing this and to just leave. Kyosuke got up saying that before he left he had something to say. Kirino protested saying there was nothing to talk about. Kyosuke responds saying that unfortunately he did have something to talk about. "Yesterday, you asked me what I wanted you to do..." says Kyosuke. Kirino did not respond. "I said something along the lines of "you should decide", but I take that back" says Kyosuke. "Wh-what?" replies Kirino. "What I want you to do... is to not go out with guys.." says Kyosuke. He knew this wasn't something to say to his sister in front of her boyfriend, but he said it. "... why?" asks Kirino. "Why indeed, I don't know" says Kyosuke. "It's vexing maybe, like some strange guy is taking my sister away" replies Kyosuke. He tells Kirino that as her brother he wouldn't tell her that he wouldn't accept her having a boyfriend. He had to consider her feelings and he wouldn't like it either if the rolls were reversed. That’s why he said the things he did. Although he couldn't properly express himself, as if with something on her mind, Kirino listened.
"Whether you go out with anyone or not, It's up to you. As your brother, I have no excuse. Yesterday, I don't know why I got so angry, but because of that, I don't know how I can apologize for it. It would be easy to just say I'm sorry, but to apologize isn't something like that. So I thought I'd honestly tell you what I thought." says Kyosuke. "... late" murmurs Kirino. "What?" says Kyosuke. "too... late.." says Kirino. The room became quiet and an uncomfortable atmosphere set in. Kyosuke realized he had to properly speak with Mikagami. He asks Mikagami if loved Kirino. Mikagami replies saying that he really does and respects her while gently smiling. Kyosuke thought of all the reasons Mikagami would be right for her. Being rich, talented, sharing interests and even being someone she could brag about to her school friends. He should give his blessing --- "I am not giving Kirino to you" is what Kyosuke said. Without realizing he stood facing Mikagami speaking from the heart. "If you want to go out with her, you'll have to prove to me that you'll have to prove you can treasure her more than I do!(He says taisetsu ni shite, which I find hard to properly translate)" proclaims Kyosuke. The jealousy within him deepened. He knew it was ridiculous, but he went beyond the point of return. He really didn't know what he wanted to do, but he pointed Mikagami. "Unfortunately for you, I definitely treasure her more than you, that's why I will not hand her over!" states Kyosukue. "...If you do not approve, you will not hand over your sister?" asks Mikagami. "Yes! It doesn't matter how great a person you are... I worry about her, to the extent where it can't be helped. If that bothers you then alieve that worry from me!" declares Kyosuke.
When he had finally said it, he was relieved, but at the same time extremely embarrassed. He finally confessed his real thoughts. The thought of giving up his cute sister to some guy made him angry and lonely at the same time. "...You..." says Kirino. Kyosuke apologizes in to her in his mind for making the situation awkward for them and considers how it would not be uncommon for her to hate him for the rest of his life. He was prepared for that. The room was quiet. After several seconds, Kirino spoke first. "....like that...." said Kirino. "A plain guy like you.... flirting with the black one(referring to kuroneko) like that! Don't say things like that as you please!" yells Kirino as she slaps him hard. "A problem with it.... of course I would!" she says before throwing the cake Mikagami brought at Kyosuke. She began pounding at his chest. "You idiot! idiot!" she exclaims. She continued to hit him. Cups were knocked down and juice had spilled all over. The place was becoming a mess, but he did not think to stop her. "That time when you made such a disgusting face like that! Why now!? Why say all this?" said Kirino. The feelings came out like a muddy stream, but Kyosuke could not connect the meanings between them. "What are you talking? Manami and Kuroneko have nothing to do with this!?" exclaims Kyosuke. "They do!" responds Kirino as she loses her composure crying heavily. "It was a lie! Going out was a lie! We didn't even kiss....! It was all a lie!" says Kirino. She seemed to have exhausted all her strength confessing that. While Kyosuke was lost as to what was happening. It took several seconds for him to register to the meaning to his sister's words. "Isn't it great...Kirino" says Mikagami with his out of place gentle smile.
"what... do you mean?" asks Kyosuke. As if he didn't hear Kyosuke, Mikagami faces Kirino looking a little sad and offers her a handkerchief. "It looks like my job is done... right?" he says. "It... looks like it.." replies Kirino. Kyosuke faces Mikagami while completely confused. Mikagami reiterates that everything was just a lie. Which shocks Kyosuke even further. "Wh...y?" asks Kyosuke. Kirino did not respond. "well... she wanted you to notice her" says Mikagami. "That's not it!" interjects Kirino. "Then why? asks Kyosuke. "that's... that's.." said Kirino trying to respond. Her words could not come out it seem. "You... you.." said Kirino attempting to explain with her expression painful. At this point, Kyosuke gave in, he couldn't take it anymore. "It's fine" he said. "You don't have to say it" he continued as he put his hand to her
head patting it. "What... are you... doing?" she asks. "A brother's duty..." he replies.
For the sake of fluidity, the story continues. Having made his sister cry, Kyosuke nervously idled about. "Kyousuke!? Y-You!?" yells their mother. She had returned from shopping with terrible timing. From her view, the room was a mess, her daughter's boyfriend stood there with a troubled expression, Kirino was crying, and standing next to her was Kyosuke who had earlier been kicked out of the room. "Wait, mom, there's been a misunderstanding!" says Kyosuke with almost no persuasive power.
"Misunderstanding? what is there to misunderstand? You do know the difference between right and wrong don't you!?" exclaims his mother. "To think... to think.." she goes on. "THAT YOU WOULD LAY YOUR HANDS ON YOUR OWN SISTER!?" she yells. "What!?" exclaims Kyosuke. "Don't try to play dumb you brute! I heard from the lady next door. The two of you were happily walking arm in arm in front of the station a while ago were you!?" she says. "To think that siblings would be in a love triangle....!! No! I will not allow it!" she continues. "It's a misunderstanding!" says Kyosuke trying to explain. "Well why is Kirino crying? It's because you isn't it!?" she asks angrily. 'Well yes, but it's different!" Kyosuke couldn't find away out of the situation. He realized the only way was to apologize profusely.
After sorting out the situation with his mother(though it seems she punched him rather hard in the process), he was walking with Mikagami part way home. Mikagami basically explains that he can't be with Kirino cause of his own baggage and that he was at first sent to convince Kirino to change her mind. He also tells him that Misaki knew that Kirino and Kyosuke were siblings because of the way they acted. He left off he'd report to Misaki that he wasn't able to break the two up and that the next time he comes over it'll be as Kyosuke's friend.
All that was left at this point was for Kirino and Kuroneko to make up. He resolved that it was not his place to do anything there. That night, his father happily drank and Kirino had a long phone conversation with Kuruneko. After hanging up, Kirino informed Kyosuke that the party would be the day after next.
He later contacted Ayase with the results of his investigation for her. "Kirino doesn't have a boyfriend" he told her. "Oh, well that's good" she says sounding quite relieved. He then questions how Ayase had acquired the purikura picture since he still had his and Kirino had thrown hers at him during their fight. She asks if Kyosuke had properly inspected the thrown purikura picture. He said he did not. She then tells him that it's fine and nothing to worry about.
Finally, he calls out Kuroneko. She sat on a bench waiting. When she had realized he was near, she said "I've been waiting". "Yeah" was his response. "Did you make up with Kirino" he asks. "yes... yesterday, over the phone. It seems I made you and Saori worry" she says. "I don't mind as long as you two have made up it's fine. Tomorrow we have the party to look forward to and this time we'll succeed at it" he says. "yes, Yes, that's right" said Kuroneko gently as she nodded. Kyosuke had realized that her way of speaking to him has changed recently. "By the way, you two were on the phone for quite a while, what did you talk to Kirino about?" he asked. "It's a secret" she replies. "I see" he said in return. He was curious, but it couldn't be helped if she would discuss it. "well... do you know what business we have left?" asked Kuroneko. "No.... I didn't understand the "I'm waiting for you at the promised place" "email" replied a confused Kyosuke. "I called you here because I was thinking about lifting the curse." she said.
"Curse?" questions Kyosuke. "Y-yes, the curse. The one I placed up you here some time ago" said Kuroneko. Kyosuke remembered when she had kissed him. They both turn red upon realizing each other had remembered. "How do you... life the curse?" asks Kyosuke. "I-Idiot.... what were you imagining just now?" she scolded as if reading his mind. "No, well, probably doing the same thing as last time is what I thought" he earnestly replied. "That's what I thought.... Really now, such a shamelessly inference" she said. Kyosuke apologizes at her glare. "The curse can't be lifted" she says. "what?" asks Kyosuke. "O-once cast you can't hope to life the curse" is what she said. "That's different than what you said, certainly, if your wish was granted the curse would be lifted right?" said Kyosuke. "Well, certainly... if my wish were granted the curse would be lifted, but it doesn't mean curse on you would be lifted." she said. Kyosuke had no clue what she was saying. "Then... what does "lifting the curse" mean?" he asks. "It means a more powerful curse would overwrite the current one" she replies. So then, Kuroneko says the words to the world's most powerful, old, and terrifying curse. "Please go out with me" she says. Several days after the confession, Kyosuke and Kuroneko became lovers.
I gotta give thanks to these guys. They are so quick in translating. Loving every sentences of it.
I'm not going to comment on Sergio's summaries until he finishes, but just doing some quick corrections on the climax summary/translation.
Note that there are also two very important conversations/incidents in chapter 4 before this climax scene.
Spoiler for just in case:
The first time they try to hold the post-comiket party, where Kirino blurts out that Mikagami is her boyfriend (causing a huge rift between Kirino and Kuroneko, and resulting in the first heated exchange between Kirino and Kyousuke over "her boyfriend"); and the conversation Kyousuke has with his father right before this climax section.
And quite a few of Kyousuke's thoughts have been left out. It's probably a bit hard without a full translation or at least a better summary (sorry, I won't be doing one), but please try not to take the following scene out of context.

Mikagami basically explains that he was at first sent to convince Kirino to change her mind about not going overseas, and that he can't be with Kirino because, even though "she is a wonderful person, she's too much for me", and furthermore, he already has his heart set on someone. He also tells Kyousuke that Misaki knew that Kirino and Kyosuke were siblings because of the way they acted.

It's Manami, not Minami
A question: Does Kyousuke still call Ruri Kuroneko in volumes 5~ ?
