If K-ON! ended like that, it would be enough WIN for me to forgive the rest of this series.

I don't like endings; I like epilogues
I would imagine the epilogue of K-ON! would chronicle the break-down of the Light Music Club (I refuse to call them After School Tea Time) years after they "make it big": On VH1's "Where Are They Now?" airing tonight at 9PM, the lives of the former members of After School Tea Time are detailed: -Yui's attention disorder and constant naive mindset catches the attention of TV producers and she accepts the position of a host for a children's show, much in the vein of a reverse Steve Burns of "Blue's Clues" -Tsumugi breaks down and pulls a 1990s Metallica and shaves her eyebrows; She curiously continues her life being the producer for lesbian porn films -Azusa continues to tour with another band and refuses to retire even into her later ages; Tabloids suspect a genetic relation to the still-touring and very old Keith Richards -Mio becomes famous after footage of the band's first school performance is leaked on the internet; She goes on to be a model sensation for Maxim magazine and manages to be Alice Cooper's newest bassist -Ritsu is accepted into a rehab center for tea and cake overdose, causing her to suffer from diabetes, subsequently making her a more popular image for Liberty Medical than Wilford Brimley Will the band reunite? Plagued by costumes consumed by clothing moths and the last concert nightmare of an on-stage Stonehenge monument in danger of being crushed by a dwarf, their future is meekly uncertain...

Let me guess in this scenario, their instruments would be magical items. Thus the fate of the universe is dependent on Yui remembering the musical number needed to defeated the great evil. Considering the way Yui is, I can't tell if that means we're safe or doomed.

They'll finish school, form a band, make undesirable music, smoke weeds, whore themselves for drugs and money, get STDs, suicide, death from drug OD, disbandment and become the best ending that TV will never show. Boo-hoo! fixed. |

It's going to end with something shiny and over the top that will probably be designed with trying to cover the weaknesses of the series that some of us have pointed out in mind. If it works you'll probably be hearing a lot of "this makes up for....", but if not.....well, it depends on where a person stands with this show right now. Either way there's no way it won't be interesting on some level of the game, and thank god for that too I suppose.

The main anime original portions were Ritsu/Mio's spat and Azusa at the club with good players, in my opinion. There's been other stuff here and there, but nothing that really took up an important chunk of an episode in my opinion.
