A magical Psychopass.

That how I would call it for reference.

Oh, not bad for an introductory episode.

The part of the court was intense at least for me. Poor guy .

Kite designs, OVA level animation and Wakamoto as a horny frog? EFFIN' SOLD.

(please don't nosedive like Mezzo TV, please...)

Great first episode. Moved fast without any stretched out exposition. I love me some Umetsu designs so on the production side the only thing that annoyed me was that BGM during the action scenes.

Ep2 now, please.

The episode moved a quicker than I expected for a introduction. The scenes felt short and the quick transitions was a bit odd for me. But the visuals and OP+ED are very good.

Well that was pretty entertaining stuff, I liked it a lot.
(But more of the hot police woman, I hope!)

Looks like it could be good... if the main character died in ep 2, but seeing as that is not going to happen i can only hope the good will outweigh the bad

Some of the CG needs serious improvement.
The characters look good though.
Story sounds ok, but it could go in any direction.
The whole lawyers thing is a unique concept.
Don't know what to expect.
Main characters are practically all girls.
Looks like they were saving the fun for the very end.
Not bad, but it's still missing something.
Think I'm gonna skip it.

That is my fear as well. Mezzo TV's first two episodes looked pretty good, then the budget disappeared and the quality tanked.

This was a promising beginning, but Galilei Donna was promising at first too. At least this show has Umetsu's character designs, which I much prefer over the blandness of Galilei Donna or most modern shows' designs.

I liked it, interesting premise. The magic looks flashy and cool, and looks like we get some nice OBJECTION! court action as well.

Very good animation, good characters, good art style. CGI is obvious and can use some serious work. 12 FPS CGI at times gives me eyestrain.

Fast pacing and visually stunning, loved it. I hope Cecil is able to defend her client successfully.

OP/ED are stellar. OST is good enough, I really like the courtroom and battle music.

Ok, now that was a very promising first ep!

Definitely going to give the next couple of eps a go....

Again, nothing terribly deep or profound, but seems pretty good so far.

So this girls is more of a "practical" lawyer. The ones that let their fists talk. Getting arrested in the first episode does not bode well for her.

Interesting interesting. The prejudice wizards face annoys me, as I'm sure it's supposed to.

Now, was that attack on Cecil set up as something against her, or to ensure that her client doesn't have a defense?

Umetsu is back in his element.

That was a very promising first episode. Godly animation for a TV anime and an interesting premise. It even has Norio Wakamoto! If the animation quality holds up, we've got a winner.

The Practice: Wizards

Already some sakuga moments in the first episode. Looks like this show will be full of them, so that alone will get me to watch it. Otherwise, the concepts are interesting (when was the last time we got an anime about criminal defense) and direction seems superb so far.

That was quite an impressive premiere. It went straight in without any hesitation and we got an entertaining (if a bit simplistic) case on how mutants WUD are treated in this society and how the characters plan to combat the discrimination through law (a premise that's been heavily underused in this genre imo).

I'm a bit on the fence about the main character though. She's been showing a few "can't do no wrong" signs which gives me bad memories of Hajime from Gatchaman Crowds...

Nah, she's optimistic but a lot of people are already putting her in her place. Despite her great knowledge and power she's a bit inexperienced in applying them, and it sort of shows in the way she handles problems.

Hmm ... well, since I liked Hajime if that did happen to be the case I don't think I would mind all that much, but who knows? Sometimes a trope like that works for some charas and not for others, I have found - at least for me.

I do hope that they will explore the discrimination angle in a good way, though - I am reminded a little of Petopeto-san, actually (an adorable series of some time ago that is criminally neglected in my opinion and whose round and fuzzy exterior belies the serious issues it touches upon).

I figured that wizards would be persecuted in this anime. Are the cops not wizards? Shouldn't they have a combat division of wizards or something to fight other wizards?
