People might take a look at Pani Poni Dash as well if they liked the somewhat plotless hilarity, inside jokes, cultural references and over-the-top zaniness.

Just finished watching this series last week, and I gave it a 9 out of 10 rating.
It got the -1 deduction for too much self-promotional references to Haruhi. Other than that, I think this series is great to watch, and on par with School Rumble. Characters are very interesting and likable, especially Konata and Kagami. |

As hard as I try, I just get turned off by the character design and general graphic aspect. Just too cute and chibi for my taste. The rest seems quite solid tho, tempted to give it another try...

Decided to watch some of volume 5 R1 DVD release tonight while taking a snack break.
I had forgotten just how mind-blowingly cute Misabi and Patty Martin were when they talked. And how much Kagami reminds me of my significant other (which I love her for ).

He is the voice actor for Akira's sidekick in Lucky*Channel. I wasn't really fond of the amount of time budget Lucky*Channel took from the series. I didn't dislike L*C or the live-action tomfoolery - just that they didn't seem to know when they had beaten the "funny" to death. It would have been funnier with the entire voice acting cast hamming it up.

And the OVA just made my hunger for the 2nd series greater and greater. Too bad the chance for such a happening is...well, close to 0%, I think (concerning the original material). I beg to differ. It wasn't that bad. Of course, it got repetitive after some time, but so did the karaoke (for me, at least). Still, it was a success...I mean, in the most of situations, I watch the ending just once. And never again. This way, out of curiosity, I always looked at what Shiraishi had in plans each time...same for the songs, not like in other anime where I just skip the ending to the next episode.

This anime was definitely a win for me, 10/10 personally.
There were only two problems I had with the entire series, they could have gotten away with making it longer and Patty's voice was really annoying. In BOTH versions. What really hooked me on the series was how cute it looked, all the humor, and the awesome references to anime and Japanese culture that I did or didn't know about. When Konata or another character mentioned or referenced an anime that I remember it either made me feel like a knew a lot... or that I have no life... I've watch it so many times now (the last DVD's been out for only a day in English, this will tell you how sad I am) that I can listen to either audio and not look at the screen and remember precisely what is happening.

I absolutely love Lucky Star. It may be a random mix of everything nerdy and confusing but its still funny and Moe-Tastic ^o^
At first I really didn't like it that much because all they did was talk about food in the first episode, but eventually it got interesting and funny. I think they were just trying to introduce you to they're personalities in the first episode. Then all these other characters came and I loved it even more! (Konata is my favorite...I know loads of people say she they resemble her but I want to become more "Like" her...shes the top of the otaku scale baby!) I also love Akira. Shes so fiesty! (And bratty...but thats why I love her XD) Anyways, Lucky Star is amazing, has amazing art, characters, and dialogue and should be watched! |

Apart from that, it comes from the original 4-koma. They just animated it. Quote:

Anyone familiar with the old vaudeville classics like a typical George Burns joke/story would definitely appreciate it. It was simply too different a form of humor for many forum posters... he would tell a story that lasted 4 or 5 minutes before the punch line, at some point the stretching itself became funny as it quietly built up to the finish.
