This is from the same group that did DxD born and to many in DxD the changes they made were a mixed bag. This is a similar thing. Actually Masou Gakuen is what you can see on the anime, pure hardcore ecchi where one piece of story leads to more ecchi, is almost like a loop. Just taking a look at the LN thread the amount of comments about the story are the minium because is just a excuse to pull more and more ecchi, saying this has a good story is a flat out lie.

Also in Shinmai Maou's case ironically the one who mostly throwed shit against the show was you, especially on the LN thread, so stop assuming everyone who likes Shinmai did that. That said, the second cour of that show was destroyed, still remember how IMS fucked up the end by turning it into something completely different.

The harem genre is doing a bad job year after year, the only ones pushing the "it has a great story!" card are the fans, that happened with Asterisk, Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut, World Break and others, but in the end all ended on being just another seasonal harem with terrible sells and mediocre rankings on Japan.

this is something which i agree, i already see a lot of really crap harems/ecchi being named as "awesome" by the genders fans but in truth is really crap, the "so hyped plot" was just hyped and in the end they where just the generic harem or even worst all the awesome was just the fanboy hype of the hardcore fans, ofcourse sometimes indeed the harem where true i'm not gonna denny but for me majority where really bad and just peoples which love too much the gender or the serie and where unable to recognize how bad she is in the end.

My criticism of Shinmai is a similar criticism that i have with this. Decent story but its being overshadowed by the ecchiness. Thats all there is to it. The first cour was unwatchable and many of us agreed with that including me.

I don't know what I missed since I don't read it but bahamut was a lot more enjoyable than infinite stratos so I didn't think it was too bad. World break was too shit for me to watch at episode 1 so no comment. Asterisk was ok but the characters were kind of annoying to me. Overall, the biggest problem in those types of series is really just the simplicity of the characters and how much of a joke the villains usually are. And it's not like the animation is even that good most of the time so it's barely a spectacle to watch except for a few fight scenes.

Because if they do it this way they can give all the girls some time to shine and establish the world.

In this case volume 1 is Aine volume 2 is Hayaru volume 3 is Yurisha. Volume 4 begins the actual story. The idea is that this way you're fair to all girls. Plus if you want to keep things going you need to show something to all different types. Lets face it the problem is more the fact that 4 volumes in 12 episodes means you have to focus on the thing that you think will give you the most viewers. in this case its the fanservice. 3 volumes lets you do a little more story and would've been the best move.

The fear that i have is due to the many changes that there's going to be an anime original ending which is extremely stupid.

Eros has two functions. The first is that it absorbs the powers of any machine that it uses heart hybrid with. Anybody whose ever seen Yu-gi-oh remembers Relinquished its the same idea as that.

The second is heart hybrid itself. Which is an ability seemingly unique to kizuna.
