I've got a few questions
1) How important and relevant are volumes 14 and 15 in respect to the storyline? Basically, can I skip over these 2 volumes and read volume 16?
2) I didn't really like volumes 9 and 10 that much, so how much of an enjoyment factor is in volumes 14 and 15?
3) Volume 12 and 13 introduced a bit but neither side clashed with each other aside from Touma. I want to see like Mikoto go up against a magician, etc. In what volume will we see the magic side and science side start clash?

Spoiler for Mm-kay:

1. All volumes are generally relevent, but you can skip them and still get a general idea of what's happening, though some plot points may just just fly over your head.
2. It was generally the mandatory school festival every series needs. 14 and 15 are generally much different from those.
3. Hasn't happened.....yet.

1) it's best if you read volume 14 before you read volume 16, but you can understand volume 16 without difficulties if you know what happens in volume 14

volume 15 is about accelerator, so it has no relevance to volume 16

both volumes 14 and 15 are very relevant to the storyline though

2) well, personally, i think index has a fairly weak story until Vento's introduction in volume 12. From that point on it becomes awesome though

3) Volume 20, though they already start to clash in volumes 13 and 14. As for Mikoto, the only time she went up against magicians is in Mikoto's SS mini-novels. Not sure she will *ever* actually directly be involved in a major battle against magicians in Index...

No 3 you can see most clearly in the Russia arc.

Mikoto grabbed the nape of Kamijou’s neck as he tried to run away at Mach speed and yelled in his ear so close he thought she was going to bite his ear off.
“Why must you cut our conversations short at every chance you get!? You haven’t even responded to the email I sent you yet. Let me see your phone for a second!!”
“Email…? You sent me an email?”
“Yes, I did!!”
Kamijou thought about it for a second, took out his phone, opened his inbox to show it to Mikoto, and cocked his head to the side in puzzlement.
“…You did?”
“I’m telling you I did!! What? There’s nothing in your inbox!? Don’t tell me it’s treating my address as spam!!”
Mikoto was shocked at first about her email, but then she stumbled upon a further truth.
She reached and grabbed Kamijou’s hand to keep him from hitting any more buttons and stared at a certain name in his received mail folder.
“…Why do you have my mother’s address in your phone?”
“Hah?”
(Come to think of it, I did run into Misaka Misuzu when she was drunk the other day.)
Mikoto wrinkled her brow and started manipulating Kamijou’s phone with her thumb. She was calling Misuzu.
“H-hey, wait!”
His phone didn’t have speaker phone option, so the phone’s volume was fairly high. Due to this and the fact that he wasn’t very far from Mikoto, he could hear the phone ringing on the other end.
“Yes, mother? I need to ask you about something.”
“Huh? My display must be screwed up. It wasn’t showing your number, Mikoto-chan.”
Misuzu sounded confused.
From what Kamijou could hear of Mikoto and Misuzu’s conversation, Mikoto was asking for a detailed explanation of how Misuzu’s number ended up in Kamijou’s phone.
“Hmm…”
Misuzu’s answer started slowly.
“I think I met that boy in Academy City one night…but I was drunk, so I don’t really remember the details. I have no idea when my number could have ended up in his phone though. Ha ha ha.”
“I see. I see.” Mikoto nodded slightly and hung up.
She smiled and elegantly returned the phone to Kamijou.
“What the hell were you doing with my mother while she was druuuunnnkkk!?”
“Hahhh!? What kind of crazy deduction is that!? And I’m pretty damn sure your mother remembers everything that happened! That laugh at the end really made it sound like she was lying!!”
This was something someone should be able to think through pretty easily, but Mikoto must have thought that this was a crisis that could destroy her family, because her face turned bright red as she lost her cool.

If I remember it right. I heard his name from hayate no gotoku translator though not sure. But I met that name in mangahelpers when it's still in glorious form. Now that looks like an abandoned one. But that's only on my opinion.

I was wondering, seeing as Mikoto is not going to be in the best of states after Volume 22, do you think certain other parties (like #5) might move to exploit it? (That is, if she's going back to AC)

- Accelerator is against Academy City.
- Kakine isn't on his better "state".
- Mikoto is outside A.C.
- Mugino is against A.C. along with Shiage and her powers/body are on weak state.

There you have, the first 4 level 5's are no longer and the only one who is known by us to be a good guy is Gunha Sogiita the others like the Queen in Tokiwadai and Mr. 6 are not reliable byt the time being.

Im also hoping that Full Tuning will show up as well. Maybe now that mkoto is gone Crowley will have her take Railguns' identity and we will have have a yandere, evil Mikoto as an impostor.
