Matches: G3-2 H3-1
These two matches close out round 3. Akari had some trouble last round with Saten while Asuna had an okay win over Ayano. Akari should be a lot stronger than Ayano so I'm favouring Akari here. We get to see what the Puella Magi are capable of under the new restrictions. Normally, Sayaka wouldn't have any trouble winning here. However, now she might. It's also possible that the new restrictions made the Puella Magi stronger than ever and they are going to stomp everyone else. Votes: Akaza Akari Miki Sayaka Predictions: Akaza Akari Miki Sayaka

Results for Round 3 Day 7
Before vote elimination G3-1 1st 257 Tsukiko Tsutsukakushi @ Hentai Ouji To Warawanai Neko 2nd 246 Kuroneko (Ruri Gokou) @ Ore No Imouto Ga Konna Ni Kawaii Wake Ga Nai H3-2 1st 320 Eru Chitanda @ Hyouka 2nd 153 MISAKA #10032 @ Toaru Kagaku No Railgun After vote elimination G3-1 1st 230 Kuroneko (Ruri Gokou) @ Ore No Imouto Ga Konna Ni Kawaii Wake Ga Nai 2nd 186 Tsukiko Tsutsukakushi @ Hentai Ouji To Warawanai Neko H3-2 1st 284 Eru Chitanda @ Hyouka 2nd 108 MISAKA #10032 @ Toaru Kagaku No Railgun ============================================= Kuroneko and Eru win. The new method of validating votes takes much longer. After Nodoka, Tsukiko becomes a new victim of the new rules that exclude some of the votes. |

Well, I wanted Kuroneko and Eru to win, and they did. Eru's win is obviously valid, so I'm pleased there, but I'm not entirely comfortable with Kuroneko's win. Interesting, though, that the rule change actually favored an older strong girl here rather than the strong newcomer.
The rule change is shifting strength levels, and it's safe to say it's hurting Saki, but it might have some surprising results beyond that.

This whole tournament has become a farce. Remind me again why we're still posting here?
And are the Japanese voters ever going to boycott this Saimoe? Oh well. If Sayaka stomps, I'll have to ask KanbeKotori how he knew Saimoe was going to get rigged. Also, if Akari loses, is doing this still relevant? (Because her voters didn't know where she went, and so couldn't vote for her.)

1. It's kind of like watching a two-cour anime that you were enjoying for the first 12 episodes, but at Episode 13 it jumps the shark. You've already put so much time investment into it that you kinda want to see it through to the end even though it's nowhere near as good as it seemed before. 2. There's still girls in this I like a lot. If not for that, it would be easier for me to just ignore it. I suspect for some there's a third reason: 3. They've been Saimoe fans/followers/voters for a long time, and it's hard to quit a hobby even when it starts to go bad. Quote:

@Subayai - Your stats work continues to be one of the best parts of this J-SaiMoe, making things much more interesting. So big kudos to you for that!
Please keep providing us with vote counts both pre-votes thrown out and post-votes thrown out, so we can get a good idea of which characters are getting screwedbeing affected the most by the rule change. Perhaps some patterns might emerge there.

Also, I really do want people to boycott this tournament. The reason might not be what you'd think, though. Spoiler for Reason:

Hmmm..... I missed some interesting results. First results, Tsukiko has the lead by 11 votes. Official results, Ruri wins. I would of accepted either challenger winning, but I prefer Ruri alittle more.
Despite what has been happening lately to the tournament, since my overall #3 favorite Ruri and a few other favorites are still involved in the tournament, I may as well see this year through to the end. Supporting: <Akari> Also supporting Sayaka alittle.

Hmm, another reversal due to vote invalidation. I'm quite happy that Ruri won her match, though Tsukiko herself is not far behind with me when it comes to how I like the characters.
I would've commented on how that match would also bring a clash of the HanaKana and Yui Ogura fanbases since both seiyuu tend to voice similar types of characters, but under the current restrictions it would be doubtful. Flying the flag today. Picks: Akari Akaza @ Yuru Yuri Sayaka Miki @ Puella Magi Madoka★Magica Quote:
From my point of view, it seems like we've already had a changing of the guard with the current mix of forumers who post in this thread - more or less about a handful of those who regularly post here I would consider to be part of the "old guard" who've been following Saimoe much longer than I have.

I mean, both Nodocchi (Initially won by something like 30 votes) and Tsukiko (Initially won by 11 votes) got screwed, but you didn't see the like of Kobato (Won by, well, 300+ vote initially) seeing the result reversed just b/c, well, she's ahead by way too much.

Which reminds me. Anyone got the vote graphs for the Chuu2 girls (Shinka, Rikka and maybe Sanae) in the rounds where they got knocked out? I'm suspecting something...
