the reason they want to do bleach is because it's popular. the anime titles you mentioned aren't as popular as bleach. they're only well-known among anime fans but the likes of bleach and naruto have gone further from that. even their merchandising is a big business among the western audience. they're popular among kids and adults alike. akira and ninja scroll are considered classics just like ghost in the shell (which was actually used as an inspiration for the matrix), so it's not hard to believe that they caught the attention of big hollywood producers. while death note's plot is unusual and revolutionary so naturally hollywood would try to milk that one too. i won't be surprised if they set their eyes on naruto next.

they didnt do too bad with the death note movies i have to admit. i saw them about this time last year and there pure gold compaired to DBZ. i mean L's actor actually looked like L and the same goes for light and the grapics created to make ryuk. i rather a stupid CG movie of bleach then a live action for some reason.
Btw ppl its my birthday in exactly one month and im turning the big 15wooooooooooot!

the japanese did those movies. they weren't as good as the anime or the manga but they were better than most hollywood-produced asian remakes. it's because they're working with their own material, own culture, and own beliefs.

100% Agree. Westerners should never EVER touch any one of the japanese animes and make them into a movie. They have already ruined one of my favourite animes growing up in DragonBall and in no way am I going to support them in making a Bleach live movie if they ever plan to make one. See how successful the Death Note movie was as compared to DB Evolution(Epic Fail). lol, it wasn't even a contest.

mabye some older actors for aizen and byakuya otherwise spot on actors! everyone says L looks like Ulquiorra so thats probably been the best suggestion so far. Isnt it warder bros that r meant to be trying to buy the rights to the bleach movie ATM? if so i doubt there gonna be an aisain cast. i will be DBZ all over again.

I know I am late on the topic, but I think bae yong joon could play Jushiro Utitake. Also I do think Japanese or asian actors should be in the bleach movie not western actors. I believe it keeps the integrity of the anime and manga.
