Neat. Too bad it probably won't be a launch title, which is what new systems need.

TBF the god in Bayonetta verse wasn't particularily strong verse wise. Hell the dude you buy weapons from was actually stronger than her. I'm pretty sure they can go on. It's not like Bayonetta was based mostly around it's combat anyway...

OTOH, not all games need to end with an apocalyptic, space-time disrupting neomachina god who wants to "save" the planet...

Not sure if you are serious, but SMT series made its debut on the sfc. Except for Nocturne all titles were initially released on Nintendo platforms. As for Bayonetta 2, the game was scrapped, but received now a second chance because Nintendo backed it financially. If you want to blame someone, blame Sega or MS for not funding the project.

Will certainly pick this up =03. They need to stop playing and make that DMC(old Dante) and Bayo crossover.

And for those who are still skeptical:

Without a publisher and producer to back it up, a game wouldn't emerge at all. So if anything, without Nintendo, we wouldn't even see a Bayonetta 2 at all.

*sighs*
I'll be waiting for reviews and playthroughs of the finished product before picking this up. Because I already know that so long as I'm convinced the gameplay at least is on par with the 1st one, nintendo will have once again persuaded me into getting their console just for one freaking game. (The most recent KH game got me to pick up a 3DS.)

After Vanquish and Max Anarchy, they might want to think twice about anything from Platinum.

God people's reactions about it being exclusive to Wii-U are hilarious.

Warning for the below video contains strong language.

I was going to post that video but decided against it.

I'm personally glad as Bayonetta 2 finally puts the Wii U into my "4-games-I-want minimum" rule.

I liked the first game but sad to see this is Wii U. Not even sure I'll ever buy another nintendo product. Oh well.

A portion of the gaming community are entitled, whiny brats. News at 11!

Cool news though! I'm unlikely to buy a Wii U, but depending on the other titles coming out, I may reconsider.

Well Sony's stance has always been, you can develop/port any kind of game for our consoles, but we won't help finance it. There are exceptions, but those are games produced by sony from the start and normally viewed as sony titles.
Sometimes you have to question their judgement and how out of touch sony are with the market. Demon's Souls is the clear example of last generation on how sony got it wrong. The game was almost scrap, because one of their big bosses though it was $hit. An oversea released were done by a third party publishers and indirect sequel published and financed by N-B. As you see sony and ms do not really like to fund games, unless it is made by one of their own studios. But they do welcome people releasing game on their consoles.
BTW Sony and MS never believe in Bayonetta, it was Sega who did and they even released a crappy ps3 port made without platinumgames' help...
Bayonetta was flogged to Sega as a 360 only title, but sega though that making a PS3 version would increased the sales numbers..

Didn't the first game sell sufficiantly well in both the US and Japan, plus all the great ratings? I figured a release on all consoles was a definite thing.

I'm not gonna blow steam over this news, but it does kinda suck. Now I gotta buy a 250 dollar console for one game. :/
