I mean hey - you can't really debate about taste, but in many shots, the art was so bad that it looked Super Deformed while it wasn't even INTENDED to be SD. *shudder*
There's no way this movie would have passed the J.C.Staff quality assurance... |

Just as a little spoiler: Spoiler for Manga:
What does that imply? Well... I don't know...

Just another confirmation:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/inte...staff-revealed As long as the story is decent and doesn't contradict and/or stray too far from canon, I'm good. Heck, I found some of the non-canonical material of season 1 (such as the penultimate episode) pretty good. Last edited by mitsuganae; 2012-08-01 at 20:35. |

Just why can't we simply have J.C.Staff doing the third season like they did the second? Close to the original, with proper artwork? This would be a _guaranteed_ hit.
In my opinion, the movie was already very close to a failure and definitely below the TV anime's quality. And this here doesn't really look very promising to me... Ah well. There's always hope. |

Imo, why can't we just have that third season proper -_- ? I can let the art direction slide, I can look pass switching it to any other studio, but why drag this any longer than it has to =_= ?

While it's not a huge deal, I at least hoped that Nakagawa Koutarou would be in charge of the music again. He did a good job with the music for the first 2 seasons, while the movie's music was completely forgettable to me (and the movie's composer will be in charge of that for this series too).

I like ... the new logo. Very stylish, very cool looking. An improvement over the current one I think. I kinda wish this was the series' original title design.
Other than that ... well, I already said in the thread earlier, I was really looking forward to this being the long awaited Golden Week arc so ... Ah well, I'll be keeping an open mind about it. I actually preferred the first anime to the second in many aspects, so who knows? Maybe this will be a fun watch as well. Kinda sucks it's not what I was hoping it would be though ... :/ Quote:
Interesting bits of trivia: The character designer for the series is also the director, Masashi Kudo, who is making his debut as a director with this show. In an interesting bit of coincidence, the movie director, Hideto Komori, was also the character designer for the film and that was his debut as well. The Hayate franchise as testing grounds for directors? :P Anyway, withholding any sort of comment on the visuals until a PV shows up. Yeah, I had hoped that he would return here as well, It's a real shame, especially when you compare the first two seasons with the movie OST

Based on the trailer alone I'm not terribly interested for a hayate season for the first time. Something not eotw arc at this point instantly makes me not care to begin with, and whatever was shown in the trailer made me less interested at that since it doesn't seem tied to the manga. Yes I realize this isn't new information, it's just more of a confirmation that I don't care about it sadly.
I really like most of the shows manglobe have done in the past, but this time the art makes me D: (not talking about animation quality per-say, just the char design and such) |
