Brilliant news! This arc is even better than the last one. Can't wait to see it animated.

Looks like they're skipping a bunch of individual chapters and go right into the arc, not that I'm complaining. Really looking forward to it.

Wow! The best serious arc will finally get animated. That's something. It's a shame though that there are recaps now since many people might miss it.

Edit:
Here's youtube version:

Gintama's 2nd Film Slated for Next Summer

Quote:
The cast members of the Gintama anime announced at their Jump Festa stage event on Sunday that the second Gintama film will open in Japan next summer. The film will have an all-new story is written by original manga creator Hideaki Sorachi. However, the cast expressed some doubt about the summer opening since the contents have not been finalized and Sorachi is under the weather with a Norovirus infection.

New movie with original storyline and Shogun arc? Sunrise delivers as usual

Now, as a note to the mods, since they didn't hear me the first time:

CHANGE THE THREAD TITLE ALREADY.

I wonder how is Sunrise going to release the new season in DVD since there are lots of old episodes.

The DVDs will most likely only contain new episodes, I hope at least. The way they're handling this season reminds me of a typical American season: new episodes in between a large batch of reruns.

yups the dvd will only contain only the new episode

copy-pasted from here :

DVD 3

The peculiar thing is that placeholders for DVD 2 and 3 were put online at the same time, which usually doesn't happen.
Another thing to point out is that they have 3 episodes each, not the usual 4.

Aside from Season 1, the pattern of the number of episodes per DVD has been consistent. The last DVD in each season is the only exception to make up for the odd number left over (for example, you'd see 4-4-4-4-2 or 4-4-4-4-3), so for us to see 4-3-3 might be something to stroke our chins about. Not sure if this special Yorinuki-mix season will break the mold though.

In the worst case, this means we are only getting 10 new episodes in total, and we're already through 4 of them.
So the keisei arc will be likely 6 episodes long

New episodes finally return. Kintama joke is long finished. 2012 is behind us.

Mods, please be responsible again and fix the thread title.

Finally, new episodes! There were even a new OP and ED to accompany them. The OP is particularly awesome. Obi-one is in it, so that means they're at least going to adapt two arcs this time around.

This arc is off to a great start. There were so many hilarious gags. Nice to see Soyo (we hadn't seen her in literally ages) and the Shogun, who is once again going to be mistreated. Poor guy can't catch a break

Argh, that name did seem familiar. The joke being Marida Cruz who piloted the Kshatriya does also voice Tsukuyo.

Anyway I was pleasantly surprised to see Obi-one in the opening and a good solid first episode to the arc. I also did not know Aya Hirano was still a seiyuu with the scandals and all of that.

Honestly I completely forgot she existed. What episode(s) did she appear in previously? If you don't mind answering that...

Really liked the new OP, it was awesome! Emailing buddies~ well Gintoki at least gets a free phone, that's a positive right? Definitely too poor to afford anything too fancy.
More Shogun too! Never a bad thing, I can't wait to see what else he'll go through in the next few episodes.

It seems she's okay with being in shonen jump stuff like this and Fairy Tail.

She appeared only once in episode 14. I had totally forgotten she was voiced by Ryou Hirohashi, it's good to hear her again.

I totally forgot about the Shogun's sister. The highlight of this episode for me is Gin and Tsukuyo's interaction. Hilarious as usual. They are like an bickering elderly couple.

Even though Gintoki might not have connections like Kagura he reconfirms his boss status by taking out the Shogun the moment he shows up on-screen
