About the entry

a) I think that picture of Mokoto is not a good example for the point you make.
b) The ghost in the shell manga actually acknowledge the problem of a partial artificial body in a side chapter.

You are correct that the major is a full body cyborg which is different than a partial body cyborg. In the first image I reference that she is different and make the distinction between the two types. Edward is a partial, and Makoto is a full. The second image was the only one I could find of a cyborg breaking from using to much force. Ideally it should have been someone like edward or some other partial body cyborg falling apart, but the image of the major was the only one i could find. Also later in the post i reference exactly what your comic describes.

The point I'm trying to make is, that you're using a wrong picture for the point your making. I understand that finding right pictures may be difficult, but from a scientific point of view it is better to show no picture than a wrong one. Especially because you use the same character as an example for both cases which leads to internal contradictions.

Kyoto Animations hit movie A Silent Voice is about to get a limited American Theatrical release, and deafness places a central role to the plot. the movie does an excellent job potraying deafness and the struggles people with it face. The question then becomes what is the cause of Shoko's deafness, and can gene therapy possibly help some of those struggling with hearing loss?

Violet Evergarden's mechanical limbs and hands reminded me of Luke's replacement arm in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. At least that story was set in a far future. I haven't watched those shows yet, is there enough information on their wiki pages for me to dig into those topics. By the brief description you gave I would go with cavorite being a natural room temperature super conduction and it floats via magentic levetation. I know very little about the physics of parallel universes but I might try at some point.

As to Violet Evergarden, I have seen it and I am working on a post about it right now. Less about busting the science and more about going into the history, current state, and future of artificial limbs.

But that was regard's to the strength of the limb itself and how a super strong limb would impact the rest of the body. There is no explination given in universe as to how it is connected directly to the nervous system something we can't do in the real world just yet.

I guess I'll just have to watch the show at some point and here is the new post for the week.

Last week I covered deafness in A Silent voice and a possible treatment for Shoko. This week I am covering how you could use A Silent Voice in the classroom. Now I know the obvious choice would be for a unit on bullying, but it can also be used in a science classroom which is where my focus will be.

It'd probably be better to wait until the show ends to get full context. There's still too much we don't know and missing information can ruin a good hypothesis. Especially considering that it can somehow turn pilots into monsters.
