Not finished yet, probably. Hard to say when it comes to this sort of thing.

For one I always think it got delayed because it's tied up with season 2 release.

And please don't prove me wrong.

I wondered how you acquired them. And there's no shame in reading them. Then you can bash them with authority. *nods sagely*

*veers back to topic* I honestly doubt we'll get an announcement on novel ten until Season Two's airing is over... but if we're lucky, it'll have gone gold (...by that I mean "finished and in duplication". Man, I feel old using that term) by then.

Let's just hope we're lucky then. And the 9th volume was such a cliffhanger... Damnit, I CAN'T WAIT ANOTHER YEAR. Huhhhh *think happy thought*

I'm only 18 and starting college this August, and I'm already feeling old no matter what I do. Can't imagine how I will feel in the years to come...

Gone gold? It's not like it's some obscure phrase no longer in use.

It certainly seems obscure with how many people know of it. You have no idea how much you made my day by knowing it yourself.

It's not used often not because no one uses the term anymore but because the average person, especially on the internet, is incredibly ignorant of things outside their personal millieu. Schools aren't allowed to actually teach anything useful any more. Too much risk that only some of the students may learn it.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
At least when cliche'd plot devices pop up in SHnY we have Kyon to sympathize with. He's already a one-man MST3K'er.

This is why Tanigawa is a genius. He can blame his cliche'd plot devices on the way the universe works due to its God being a manga addict.

Much like how the creators of the new Star Trek movie can push the hatred of the cosmic retcon onto the villain?

J.J. Abrams is also very big on playing up tropes. Seriously, it took me like 5 seconds to realize who Olson was after we saw him introduced at the last minute before they dropped to sabotage the Drill.

It was awesome.

The next anime side project needs to be adapting the Haruhi theater episodes. And they need to be done in the regular style, because that would be awesome.

Oh, the amount of the funding is sufficient, it's just the distribution that's horrible. All ends up going to fund this superintendent's new Olympic-sized pool, or that teachers union stooge's new Lexus, when it should be going toward decent textbooks and the hiring of more talented teachers. All the good ones either go for the better pay of private schools or have their idealism-driven impetus ground out of them by the institutionalized focus on graduation over learning and end up just playing the party line long enough to get tenure...

Yeah, what Khan did just lead to the death of Spock (he got better) and some no-name engineering cadet Scotty was related to in the novelization. Nero's actions likely lead to the complete causal annihilation of the entire Federation complement of Next Gen, DS9, and Voyager. Not really a loss on that last one, to be honest...

So we know that Sigh is coming out in October. Anyone have any idea when the third manga volume is hitting shelves?
