From the first time I heard a nujabes beat I was hooked on his music and it was a damn shame when I found out about his death last year, major loss to his musical genre but he left his mark on the world of anime by composing the intro and most of the soundtrack to the already amazing Samurai Champloo, he just made the anime even more epic with his creative genius. I'm guessing somebody has already beat me to it in putting his intro song to samurai champloo forward into this thread but i felt like I needed to have my say too, So heres to Battlecry by Nujabes a classic anime tune. RIP Nujabes.

Sorry for the very very long delayed post. I'll be doing only weekly chart reports from now on. I'm finalizing my top 1000 songs of all time (900 of which are set in stone) and learning about creating a web page for it. Hopefully I could finish it by the end of the year. In the meantime here are the charts since I've been gone.

EXTRA:
Every year, in their June issue, Animage Magazine releases its voter-based poll of the best anime songs of the year. 2011 results look like... that of 2010 with Inazuma Eleven (and Inazuma Eleven GO) dominating the list. Inazuma Eleven fans voted in droves for 2 years in a row. 4 of my personal Top 10 of 2011 made it - not bad considering that 5 Inazuma Eleven songs made the Top 10. View my Top 100 of 2011 here and view the Animage list below:

My favourite song is Moonlight Densetsu from Sailormoon,
especially the cover done by Kitade Nana.

@murasakiiro: I agree, "Moonlight Densetsu" is an undisputed anison classic. I'll discuss a little bit about the song:
Moonlight Densetsu (or "Moonlight Legend") was the opening theme song for the first four seasons of the Sailor Moon anime. The song's lyrics were written by Kanako Oda and the melody was composed by Tetsuya Komoro. Much of the melody was lifted from Chieko Baisho's 1965 "cha-cha style" hit "Sayonara wa Dance no Ato ni". You can listen to the song below:

Two different versions of this song were used for the anime. The first and the definitive version, performed by DALI and arranged by Daisuke Ikeda, was used for the duration of the first season and Sailor Moon R. The second, performed by Moon Lips and arranged by Yuuzo Hayashi, was used for Sailor Moon S and Sailor Moon SuperS. The basic melody was also used for the theme song in the English dub, as well as several other non-Japanese dubs.

Although "Moonlight Densetsu" did not sold much as a single it is today the most played karaoke anison from the 1990's beating out Neon Genesis Evangelion's "Zankoku na Tenshi no Te-ze" & Slam Dunk's "Anata Dake Mitsumeteru"(source:Joysound) and subject to numerous cover over the years.

Wow I expected Taiyou Iwaku Moeyo Chaos to sell well, but 7th is pretty high ranking(at 24k+ sales even ), and also just to know it's also by Matsuki Miyu and Ootsubo Yuka, not just Kana Asumi .

From the latest anime, Inu x Boku has both opening and 6 endings which are quite good songs for me (and like the fact that they reflect well the characters).

Yuichi Nakamura (Soushi)- Rakuen no Photograph

Hidaka Rina (Ririchiyo)- Kimi wa

Mamoru Miyano (Natsume) and Eguchi Takuya (Watanuki)- one way

Yoko Hikasa (Nobara) and Hosoya Yoshimasa (Renshou)- Taiyou to Tsuki

6/27 we should get Karuta's or Kagerou's full versions.

Kana Hanazawa (Karuta)- sweets parade

Tomokazu Sugita (Kagerou)- SM Hantei Forum

Hmmm, I am not sure if these were already suggested and I admit that I didn't read through the whole thread, but at least I didn't find them on one of your lists which I DID check. So I'll just go ahead with suggesting some OPs and EDs that imho deserve to be on an "awesome" list. The only criteria applied though is my own taste I am afraid.

Great project you have begun there. Keep up the good work, cheers!
