He's a walking incarnation of IMBA.

It gives him a lot of chi, which in turn makes him tougher. It doesn't make him invincible. It just means you have to hit him longer, harder until he goes down. Just look at his various fights, like against Hyuk So Chun.

There again has never been a master who could take that pill.
Why? because it was clearly said there is no martial arts with enough blow off as the black heaven technique which could handle that pill.
And no one but 9AD and his master knew the black heaven technique.

And 9AD means he's mastered 9 arts. Shioon basically took what his teacher had.. 9 arts, and added 1 more cuz Yae-Won school and 9AD did not like each other.

Two things:
- there are just the nine arts. The two which have been named so far are "staff" and "step". I guess 9AD won the latter with the seismic step he showed Shioon. Other people before him have won it with different steps. But it's just akin to getting the gold in a particular Olympic event. The difference is, they don't keep adding and dropping events like the IOC. They've got nine, and that's it.
- Shioon hasn't learned everything his master knows. He's got a punch, basic foot techniques, and the seismic step. That's all.

And once he learns sunwoo's skills, he will add another art which he will master.

In season 1 9AD called the head of Yae-Won a "Monster".

That was just his way of being insulting by calling her ugly.

Meaning in his eyes those people were monsters.
That same Granny called Shioon an Unbelievable Monster...
You know things are going to fall down, when a monster is calling something else a greater monster.

Everyone says Shioon's got potential. But right now, even is his chi center got fixed, he'd at best be at the level of the top young men of murim. The actual masters could kick his ass with one arm tied behind their back.

now I guess shioon will be trained by masters of other schools... sumwoo and sera noonas clans will teach him now... later other might join in..

shioon will become a monster but not like 9D...monster becouse of his ki level, spirit and learned techs... but he will be the one to protect murim name... while 9D gives a damn about it....

yet I wonder if Shiho will stand on shions side... or will she run away to 9D... heh it would be funny if along with her return Sosul would come :P

Hmmm... I kinda have mixed feelings about this from a storytelling perspective. While I'm happy that Shioon will finally get his strength back and it kinda makes his earlier struggles seem pointless. Working around his current "weakness" was both a major motivation and theme of this sequel, so just getting a patch job and then being back to normal with no repercussions feels hollow IMO.

It also makes look like everything could have just been solved by going to these guys (who were known for their medical expertise) rather than that shady doctor in the first place. Eithercase it's at least the end of his "damsel in distress" days.
