But i feel so sorry for Minorin. She seems to suffer much. She wants everyone to be happy, and then suffers herself.
I wonder what's going on with Minorin, she's getting weirder...She laugh, over-reacting, joking around and yet she got mad at the sudden. Ignoring Ryuji and Taiga...
Excellent episode, the best in ToraDora! so far, IMO. Plenty of touching, bittersweet funny, slice-of-life-but-more-literary-profound moments. And it's just the beginning...
It's very interesting to see the characters developing into something way deeper than the shallow archeotypes that most of my friends saw on them when watching the first 2, 3 chapters... I really hoped that this series would move into this direction - even if some fanbase-indulging-script-lovers out there might be over reacting to all the insight and uncertainty that is sustened by the interactions and characters from now on, that's the turning point that separates moar-moe from true-masterpieces...
Meh... IMO, Minorin is a way too-good-for-her-own-good type of person but, again... This kinda character can be seem in, let's say... on the "The Girl Who Leapt Thru Time" main character...
Taiga is becoming more and more like a real person, and not just another tsun-dere shi**y character - despite her seyuu...
I don't like the detone on Ryuji's mental capabilities - he sounds way smarter and more conscious of the environment on the novels but then, again... chapter 17 is the turning point even to this aspect...

This Guns N' Roses thing is actually getting pretty goddamn funny.
I think it goes like this:
1] Nerd idol Shoko-tan gets famous and her "Shoko-tan Lingo" spreads across the otaku world, with words like "giza" and "giganto".
2] Toradora's author decides it's a funny reflection of modern female speech and uses it in her fiction.
3] Yacchan is worried about her increasing age and the possibility of losing her job as a club hostess, so she talks to the younger girls and tries to adopt their way of speaking. The result is a mess of random hip words thrown into her sentences, particularly "giza" (very) and "gansu" (dialectal gozaimasu (desu)).
4] Her son Ryuuji twists the concept farther in an internal monologue where he's expressing his confusion at the current situation, with the line 「ギガント混乱するンガンゼンローゼス。」 (giganto konran suru'n ganzen-roozesu) meaning roughly "It's so massively confusing" where, in the fashion of his mother, "gansu" ("It's") has evolved into Guns N' Roses, or at least something sounding very similar.
5] An anime is made, based on the novels, and Ryuuji speaks the line on television.
6] Shoko-tan watches the show and expresses her surprise on her blog. She starts using the expression "giganto ganzen-roozesu" in her daily life, because it's amusing.
7] Eventually someone in her staff hears her say the phrase and asks "Oh, you like American bands?" and in response to Shoko-tan's confused look, this person kindly informs her that Guns N' Roses is an American rock band.
Remember the part where Ami finds out why Taiga is being abnormally nice, and asks if she's dying? In the book, that scene's quite different. Most importantly, it's where Taiga gets the student handbook back, with the lovey-dovey photos inside, and I think it's an interesting display of Ami's character.
I'm not good enough to translate 4 pages of prose, but I'll give a summary:

Taiga's returned to school and after hearing Kitamura's radio show, Noto comes up to her and asks why she's being so docile.
Taiga's face lights up, and she goes,
"Oh, you noticed? Well, I'm being a good girl! You know, Christmas is coming up, and Santa's sure to be watching so-"
and sweet little Taiga's explanation is broken off by her tumbling into desks, chairs and random bystanders ahead, as Ami appears and whacks Taiga's ass with her bag.
Two pages follow of Ami insulting Taiga to the max about her silly Santa delusions, while Taiga just takes it with a smile. Eventually Ami goes
"I've got it! You're on speed (meth?)! Oh god, that's terrible, this is awful, but it's the only explanation. Deary, deary me, what are we to do. Ah well, I shall have to do a bag inspection, let me see..."
and picks up Taiga's school bag, unzips it all the way, and everything trickles onto the floor. "Whoopsie" goes Ami, and starts picking the items up and putting them back in the bag. She sends Ryuuji off to grab a pen that rolled into a corner, then hands the bag back to Taiga. Just before she takes it, Ami says
"Ah, don't forget this; I'll just slip it in here, okay?"
and stuffs the student handbook into the bag's back pocket.
It's funnier in Japanese. The anime kept about half a line from their exchange, and omitted the handbook entirely. I guess book 7 is already getting 3 episodes as it is, and they can't include everything.

I personally agree with you though, it was definitely one of the best episodes so far, had everything I love about this show and in great balance.

...it seems that Minori had missed her cycle. At this point she is uncertain about what change this could possibly bring, but we see this as turning into some kind of mental breakdown. And this mental breakdown will only grow more severe, as she continues to see slower starts during the morning hours. Her anger directed at Ryuji, also an indication that the better parts are on the DVD.
