I've resisted spoiling myself anything about the manga so far, but this week will be the worst. I'm dying to know what happens next !
I had the same thoughts as Chiaki when watching Nodame play with the kids. I don't think her coming to Paris was a mistake though, as she clearly enjoyed learning more about music. Auclair was probably right, if she had more time to "mature" with him, she probably wouldn't have freaking out like this. Speaking of Auclair, his scene with Stresemann was great ! "You were supposed to be younger than me, when did you age so much?" I can't believe there's only one episode left... I doubt I'll see everything I want to see. I hope they'll have that long awaited Chiaki x Nodame concert at least. Or maybe we'll have a gigantic twist and Nodame will go back to Japan to become a kindergartner. Nah...

It seems he wanted to make her gradually learn how to enjoy and love music, and start small instead of throwing right away into the industry... which he says she hates. I'm not sure that would have worked but she would have been more confident this way.

RL has once again held me back, ooooh.....Watched Episode 10.
And I have to say, oy. *facepalm* I mean, I suppose I should have seen it coming, the omission of Spoiler for manga:
for another character in the restaurant scene, but it just feels weird for the scene to use Stresemann of all people in the mentor role in that scene. I mean, you don't generally expect Milch to act as a reliable source of wisdom at any rate, and the fact that he himself got chewed out by Auclair on a similar topic right before that just makes it feel weirder. It's like, one moment he doesn't know better as usual, the next he somehow wises up just in time to pass it on to Chiaki? It's just weird, seriously. Otherwise, not too bad an episode, although it's not up to the standard of the previous one (not that I was expecting it to be). Sometimes the pacing feels like it's rushing again, other times it feels almost right. One more episode left. Let's see what kind of swansong they'll give for the Nodame franchise we've loved for years now. |

I figured they must have compressed something. They need to wrap this up soon. |

Yes, she went by herself. And it's a pity they skipped Masayuki. That was a highlight of the manga for me.
Now that I think about it, they also skipped Brazil, which was a great moment for Chiaki's character development.
