[Game] Umineko - Spoilers, Theories, Interpretations

Hrmm, I dunno, this whole thing just seems messy and weird to me.
Lots of random, possibly untrue spoilers to follow, and some questions. Sorry if I'm veering everyone off-topic or something with this, but here are my thoughts from the spoilers:

Spoiler for Episode 7:

I know they ALWAYS flip out about new EPs over at 4chan, but from the spoilers I've read it looks plain ridiculous. I know the response to EP6 was mixed, but am I right in assuming EP5 was well recieved? And that in fact, all the EPs before that were pretty well-liked too? From what I've seen, Turn and Alliance weren't favorites (and Legend, but that's kind of a given), but did you all like them better than Dawn? I personally didn't find Dawn that bad; It's not my favorite EP either, but it seems people have been upset over Umineko ever since.
I haven't been involved in this series as long as a lot of you, but it seems to me that only with the last two EPs has Umineko seen a real dip in quality (quality probably isn't the correct term -- more like reception). I don't mind the new sprites all that much except for Young!Kinzo, which is honestly just terrible if you ask me, but now I'm hearing stuff about the culprit having a motive like "just wanting the gold". Really? I don't know what to believe, but that's a crappy motive, and all of R07's motives for Higurashi were far superior and I'm sure Ryu could have constructed a better one regardless of the character.
I wouldn't even mind about people not dying, lack of Battler/Beato, and whatever else if we hadn't been promised something else. The new OP has them all over the place, doesn't show any of the new characters except for Lion and Will breifly from what I saw, I'm already seeing people saying they don't like the music for this installment all that much... The whole thing seems strange and suspicious, really.
I can't know how much of what I'm seeing/hearing is true until I play it, I guess, but still. I feel like Ryu wrote himself into a corner and can't solve his own mystery, or otherwise that he had it planned but noticed fan input and tried to change things up but screwed up somewhere.
I want to have faith in this series after investing so much time in it, and I've genuinely enjoyed it up until this point, but this EP looks dubious.

I'm well aware that it's too early for me to be judging it when I haven't played it, but I've never felt so strange about a new episode. I don't mind the answers all that much, really, it's just that I want this series to wrap up nicely and it seems to be all over the place.

But anyway, what I'm most curious about (and I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask) is the general consensus among fans on the 'rank' of the different EPs so far, and how this one is for those of you playing now, which is why I'm posting this here instead of in the EP6 thread. If I can hear from someone whether or not it's enjoyable so far, I can know whether to spend my money on it or wait for EP8...

I don't think Shkanon was confirmed or denied as of the Tea Party. 07151129 is Battler's birthday and the date that (I believe) the epitaph was solved by "Beatrice."

I don't think Shkanon was confirmed or denied as of the Tea Party. 07151129 is Battler's birthday and the date that (I believe) the epitaph was solved by "Beatrice."

Like I said there was this really suspicious scene in which Will pressures Shannon to get Kanon so they can all have a talk. Shannon goes into weird mode and refuses. Will continues to pressure her and then gives up saying "It's fine" or something. Shannon seems glad and returns to normal

I think it's a little late in the series for that honestly, which is why I'm worried about the direction EP7 seems to be going.

...But we have to remember what author we're dealing with...

Leon is in the theater thinking. Ange(!) shows up. Neither seems to get on well with the other. Ange seems to be explaining where she's from. They appear unable to leave. ahaha.wav and the lights go on over the stage.

Claire reappears.

Back on Rokkenjima, this looks like "our" game board again. Everyone's meeting Kanon. Cut ahead to night, where it's raining. Letter and portrait are discussed. All the adults and cousins are present, along with Shannon.

Back to the theater. Leon thinks back to his experience with Will, and discusses it with Ange. Claire appears, then we go back to "our" Rokkenjima.

The adults at the conference appear to be solving the epitaph and arguing. Shannon and George meet at the arbor at night. Their conversation turns to Battler, which upsets George, but they smooth it over.

The adults are at the chapel now, solving the epitaph. All of the adults find the gold at the same time.

Back at the theater, more Leon and Ange, then back to the story. "Beatrice" appears at the gold room, with weird blank eyes. She tells them something about time and tons that shocks them. We see shots of the old base, the sub pen (sadly no awesome submarine), and then a clock repeatedly. Is this the bomb? Mentions of "2km" and flashes, so it may be the bomb they're discussing. More chat, the adults are shocked.

The clock strikes midnight. It's now 10/5/1986.

The adults argue over the gold. Eva pulls a gun. Back at the theater, Ange is pissed and Leon isn't sure what to think. Ange gets mad, I think about Eva. A gunshot in the gold room, miragecoodrinator. The one who was shot was...

Natsuhi? Krauss and Eva don't believe it. Rosa is shocked as Krauss now pulls a rifle. He struggles with Hideyoshi. The gun goes off. Krauss is shot. Rosa, Kyrie, and Rudolf are baffled. Beatrice just stands there. Arguments. Eva briefly goes nuts. She seems to be picking a fight with Rosa.

Rosa and Eva pull guns on each other (where the hell are they getting these things?). Hideyoshi is suddenly shot by Kyrie. Kyrie and Eva argue now. Hideyoshi is still alive; maybe Rosa was shot? Kyrie shoots Hideyoshi. Then Eva.

Kyrie points her gun at Beatrice. Guns her down as well. Rudolf seems a little nervous, then he and Kyrie get to work. Kyrie shoots the screen.

Back at the guesthouse, Battler gets a call. The cousins go to the mansion. Rudolf is in the servants' room, hanging up the line. He's shot somebody.

Back in the gold room, Eva is still alive. She cries over the others. She looks at the clock (perhaps thinking of how much time is left?), and loads her gun.

At the theater, Ange is mad again. Leon tries to comment but it pisses her off.

Absolutely badass music track plays. Jessica enters the dining room and Kyrie shoots her. Outside the mansion, Rudolf ambushes and shoots George. George gets back up, crying. Rudolf has to shoot him several more times.

Somebody is mutilating or bashing a body. Kyrie and Rudolf rendezvous at the dining room. Then Kyrie meets Battler at the rose garden and they return to the guesthouse. Rudolf is at the chapel when, in a flash of lightning, who should appear but Eva. Eva can't beleive what they've done and shoots Rudolf.

Ange flips her shit, because now she's being told her parents were murderous assholes and Eva, who she's hated her entire life, just killed them. Bern pops into the theater. Lambda follows soon after, behind Leon who seems a little freaked.

At the guesthouse, I think Kyrie just got done killing Battler(?). She steps outside and Eva confronts her. Eva is enraged but Kyrie is perfectly calm. Kyrie says something to really piss Eva off. They get into a close-range gunfight or something. Eva is left standing. Ange is once again shocked.

Claire reappears in the theater. Up go the lights. Bernkastel is on stage. Warping around, trollfaces, teasing everyone present. Bern offers some kind of red, I think denying something about Ange. Cackles like mad. Leon is just standing there in shock.

Cackles every few seconds. Leon gets sad. Bern takes Leon to the parlor. They talk about something that shocks him, and about Kinzo. Blood everywhere as Bern tramples on everything. Kyrie seems about to shoot him but Will cuts the screen in half and jumps in.

Pulls his sword on Bern. Thousands of cats' eyes. Will comes to Leon's defense, also there's butterflies. The cats appear to be Bern's weapon.

A white on Wright text battle. They seem to be fighting on stage. A red line from I think Will. Bern clashes, cue endscroll.

Truly, Bern removed all love from the tale. So I guess there's an element coming in play that we don't see here.

I'm almost afraid to know what is in the hidden party...
