Maybe split votes don't matter as much as I think they do. Shizuno and Kyouko end up with a solid 1-2 finish and their opponents are nowhere near challenging them. I'm surprised Uiharu got stomped so badly. I thought she was strong enough to aim for first but in reality she ends up as a distant last. Chino doesn't do very well but I guess Kyouko was too strong anyways.

Saki continues to dominate and the vote splitting handicap doesn't come close to slowing them down. As a result I continue to make incorrect predictions. It seems like Alice was very lucky to advance over Awai. In any case the Saki domination likely stops here since next round the Puella Magi take the stage again.

FL5: Miyanaga Saki vs Kirisaki Chitoge vs Kaname Madoka vs Nakagawa Kanon

Madoka takes first and Saki takes second. I can't really see a different result happening. Puella Magi are invincible so Madoka has to take first. Saki is a top tier Saki character and doesn't even have to deal with split votes so she takes second. Chitoge did well to beat Kurumi to get here but this is the end of the line. Kanon even being here is a miracle so she can't do anything either.

FL6: Misaka Mikoto vs Atarashi Ako vs Sakura Kyouko vs Amae Koromo

When science and magic cross this battle will begin. Back in 2011 Mikoto cheated to beat Homura on the opening day of the tournament. It took a while before she got caught so the result could no longer be reversed. Homura was without a doubt one of the three strongest characters that year and may have even been the absolute strongest. This is the first time the Puella Magi have met Mikoto since that day so it may finally be time for some revenge. Kyouko should take first here. On top of being stronger than her opponents, Ako and Koromo have a slight handicap due to split votes. Ako should still be strong enough to take second, though. Railgun has looked bad recently and I expect that to continue here so Mikoto takes third. Koromo gets bussed into last.

Although the current match isn't complete yet, Saki vs. Madoka ended up being an unofficial 1-on-1 match. Although I'm not really interested in either character, should Saki find a way to win the match (even though both her and Madoka would both advance anyway), I could see Saki and/or Nodoka as the chosen ones to try and stop a 3rd PMMM rep from winning AST. Chitoge and Nakagawa appeared to know in advance that they had no chance so they showed up for the introductions before taking the rest of the match off.

I think the next match will be the unofficial last match of AST before the rest of the tournament becomes a Saki/PMMM tournament (With Alice along for the ride). I think I'll skip the rest of the tournament after the next match. (Unless, Mikoto finds a way to keep the resistance going for at least another round)
