I think they would have defeated Rammot if Colt haven't saved him.

He seemed pretty damaged by Gon and Killua attacks.

Still, it was just a soldier and they had some trouble with him. Then squadron leaders must be really strong.
And to think that royal guards and the king haven't been born yet.

Of course not, but I am trying to answer the question without spoiling a thing.

I'm not denying that some of them (so far) have some grasp of understanding about "life energy" to a degree. But are you sure Meleoron's invisibility is due to nen, and nen only?
The humans captured by the Chimera Ants are stripped nude and devoured afterward. Though it's never explicitly stated, I always assumed that the Chimera Ants took their clothes from their prey. NGL soldiers possess guns and it wouldn't be a stretch to assume that they kept other items that are technically contraband.

I can't give you an answer on Meleoron just yet, but I am saying that there have been hints towards the natural abilities of Chimera Ants. For example, in this episode, Rammot naturally used Zetsu without any knowledge of Nen--which Kite comments on. Is it a stretch to believe that there could be users among them who've no concept of the extent of their abilities? A la Neon.

The bolded parts right there are what matters, my friend. So, if we go by your interpretation, you’d want me to believe that these so-called “traditional” villagers possessed and wore bikinis, wrestler-style jumpsuits, and koala-sized suits complete with a nice tie? Sorry mate, but unless there’s a twist about the villagers or the anime explicitly explains where those clothes come from, my impression that they came out of nowhere is still justified given the info we get so far.

Mate, look at my previous posts. I’ve never stated that I don’t believe there’re nen-users out there (people and animals alike) who have no knowledge about nen. What I’m saying is that I believe Meleoron’s invisibility is his natural/innate ability as an animal that doesn’t require focusing on nen to do it (unlike Hisoka’s “Bungee Gump”, for example). Now, tell me something (as a manga reader), as unique as the foxes’ ability to transform into humans, do they use an actual nen-technique to do it?

I'm saying this knowing full-well that I can be proven wrong by the next episodes. Still, this is what I believe right now.

And I've bolded what matters in yours. NGL is a country where people eschew modern technology, but we have no knowledge about their recreation. But take into account that the country was founded relatively recently--the movement began at least 18 years before the series started, whereas the country began at least 9 years before the series started. It's not as if the villagers in NGL are completely unaware of modern objects--it's that they've chosen to forsake them. Only children are born into NGL. The adults chose to move into the nation and live there.

As we've already seen, NGL is not entirely "traditional." Without knowing the nature of Gyro's army, how can one claim it's impossible? They own guns and their clothing definitely does not appear to be "natural."

Another possibility: Ponzu stated in the previous episode that there were several groups of Hunters who had already gone to NGL and been eliminated. Perhaps the Chimera Ants stole clothing from them as well.

Regardless, you're nitpicking at something that has a fairly easy explanation. Togashi often leaves minor details like those up to the reader to interpret. We do know that Chimera Ants are born naked. It makes sense to me that their clothes came from the bodies of the hundreds of prey they declothed.

You're right to believe in whatever you want, but if you want a concrete answer, PM me. I have no idea if the Kiriko ability to transform into humans is Nen.

Exactly, those villagers forsake modern stuffs, just like the customs checkpoint has proven us. The initiative to be “natural” comes from themselves. So why would they still store bikinis, jerseys, jumpsuit and the likes?

Furthermore, we already see the chimera-ants wearing clothes before they encounter those hunters, drug-dealers and storm their HQ, so where do you suggest ..say...the centipede girl got her bikini?

I’m focusing on something not properly adressed by the anime. You can call it whatever you want.

Let’s make it short. Take one example: do you really believe the chimera-ants get a koala-sized suit from any of the people on NGL? I don’t know about you, but I don’t buy it. That koala-sized suit looks more like something tailor-made (by the author) than something pillaged from people.

See? Not everything unique is nen-based. Some animals in Hunter x Hunter universe posses innate abilities as animals, just like how humans can walk and talk.

The villagers forsake modern culture, but as we've seen, the ideals of NGL aren't pure or followed to the T. You'll learn more about it next episode.

Maybe it belonged to a little person or a child. The manga makes it explicit that the Chimera Ants strip and declothe their prey. Togashi does explicitly not show where those clothes end up, but check chapter 188 (already covered in the anime). We see the first clothed Chimera Ant immediately after Togashi shows the viewer that the Chimera Ants are stripping their feed nude.

Yes, this is true. Magical Beasts seem to have the innate ability to shapeshift, though I am unsure as to whether or not this is unique to the Kiriko species or if others can as well. The latter may be correct.

I'd say more concerning Chimera Ants and Nen, but I really can't here.

I think that the koala is smaller than your average kids (let alone midget adults). So, I still don’t buy it (yet).

Nah, it's cool. I'm a true anime-viewer. I don't wanna be spoiled, so I won't ask you further via PM or something like that.

Skill Hunter is Specialist because it disables an ability on the target and lets the user use it instead. This does not fall in any category at all.

Emperor Time is not an enhancer ability. The mere notion of being able to use all categories at 100% efficiency is not something that can be achieved by "enhancing the body", which is why it's a specialist ability.

Specialists are specialists because their abilities can do things that are beyond the regular categories. It is not "something that is a more advanced version of the other categories". That would still make it fall under its base category.

Meleoron's invisibility, assuming it is "Nen without being Nen", is a pure transmuter ability however. It does not do anything that cannot be explained through transmuter.

The queen is in feeding overdrive.
So Gon and the others finally came across a hybrid.
It was awesome watching those two fight.
Seems like they will need to get even stronger to handle chimera ants.
Not everything is peachy in the chimera ants lair.
The internal problems are getting more serious.

Guys. With all the awesome stuff going on and will be going on in this arc why are we discussing something so tertiary and obviously of so little importance to the story that Togashi doesn't even mention it? The clothes came from wherever they came from. (not to say I think people shouldn't discuss whatever they want, but personally it's really a non-issue)

I mean Togashi took some creative license with his character designs is that really a make or break deal for some?

We just saw that Gon and Killua post Greed Island and all it's training are still kinda over their heads against the Chimera Ants and we still haven't seen the power of the Squad Leaders not to mention the Kings Bodyguards and the KING himself.

Frankly, anybody is free to squeeze their brains out trying to come up with logical reasoning about the clothes’ origin, while I can just brush it off as part of the character designs (the author is the tailor ).

Well the simplest explanation is that Scorpio-chan was butt naked until she encountered some of the NGL soldiers and their girlfriends frolicking in a secret pool...

The other clothed ants probably encountered some non-combat/off-duty NGL goons earlier, and stole their spiffy business suits and casual attire. It's not surprising to have at least one midget working there.

I’d say let’s just accept that the ants’ clothes are just there for the lulz and move on. Just like how we accept Spiderman’s costume in the live-action movies (and just enjoy the ride) even though any sane person knows that the costume looks too good and too expensive for something hand-made by a penniless highschooler/university student.

Looks like we're gonna have some really stellar action scenes next week. Killua's Thunderbolt was so good. I wonder if we'll get see some other techniques Gon's been working on. My guess would be the off-screen Transmutation training he mentioned in Greed Island, since last time we saw that Gon's still not doing so great on the Emission department for the time being. No hints please.

Rabbit's rage felt a lot stronger than I remembered in the manga.

This episode mentioned that the queen is taking care of the king. Does this mean that the king is right now in process of hatching? or she somehow "feels" him forming in her belly and needs more humans still?

surely specialist abilities are they own kind but some of them still are based on other categories, as it has been said people can become specialist overtime, it hints some specializations have roots in other categories, as of meleron i accept its pure speculation what i say, since there isnt enough info about that, also this series its not adverse to plotholes, specially regarding abilities/nen.

You don't really need any "extra information" to see that a chameleon shroud would be transmuter ability.

That being said, I don't actually think it's nen.
