Group: WTFansubs (yes, we're still around and still recruiting)

Positions:
Priority: Translators, Karaoke Translator, Raw Providers, QC , Editors
Secondary: Karaoke Timers, Encoders, TSers, Timers

What we have: Timer, Typesetter, Encoder. We can do QC and editing, if needed, but we prefer these positions to be filled by others.

Notes: Be prepared to take a small test so we know what your skillset is for the position you are applying since we do not want to overwhelm our staff so we can do a good job with our releases. We currently have tests ready for TL, QC, Editing, TS, Timing, Karaoke, and Raw Provision (basically, everything's set and we're awaiting applications)

Projects: You are invited to inquire in the channel, since we're throwing ideas around at the moment. We are aiming to get people together for the Spring Anime season. However, without a TL, we cannot sub anything >_> The TL will have a considerable weight in the selection of the series.

We would like to give special consideration to, but not limited to, unloved series on the anime wiki page http://fansub.andrewlb.com/pukiwiki.php?Spring%202006. We would like to consider doing (but not strictly limited to) one or two of the following: BALDR FORCE EXE RESOLUTION, TOKKO, Witch Blade, Stawberry Panic!, The Third ~Aoi Hitomi no Shoujo~, Kiba. We are also considering Glass no Kantai, but we are flexible regardless. Most of these series start in April.

#Static-Subs is seekking more staff to help as we go into the season again. We have a Standard of Quality that we keep to, and ways of doing things which are staff has gotten quite used to. Joining our staff might mean changing your methods a little and putting up a few attitudes like my own, but we do good work and some of us don't mind teaching to improve apon the skills of new staff. With time may come extra duties and higher positions & jobtitles, so needless to say there's still a little room for advancement in many areas.

Encoder Notes: We tend to sub with encodes in AVI(XviD). Might make a differance to some. At this time we haven't yet decided to lean towards MKV.

Editor Notes: The more skills you have in other areas, the better suited you are to this one. This position currently has multiple opens, so please feel free to inquire about it. Skills in Typesetting Special Effects is a major plus, but not a must.

QC Staff Notes: We could still use some QC Staff who can fallow a lead and help out whenever called apon.

QC Head Notes: Also available for filling is a second Head QC position. Like the editor positions, you must have some leader skills. Position means working closely with many, aspecially editor and maybe in time, translator. Am very picky when it comes to this position and would like someone who has skills of an editor, but that is willing to pitch in on QC-work when staff isn't available. The more leaniant you are and accepting of input from others, the better. It helps, if your open, talkative, and willing to comunicate and get information back and forth ASAP when info. comes your way. Those seeking this position can start off as QC-Staff if they like and work their way up, or talk with us about this position itself. Will help your chances to get to know myself (HIGHWAY99), Aoyama, and Hammer... who your likely to be working closely with and need to gain a good conversational friendship and working enviroment with. Might also help to be interested in light-hearted series while being able to adapt to darker themes and playful adventure stories. <-- Please, someone fill this position as a favor to myself!!

Karaoke Timer Notes: Helps to know some Romaji and Kanji for timing of Karaokes.

Working on a couple of projects, we have 2 karaoke artists, 2 full time encoders and 1 part-time encoder at the moment but all are tied up on other projects.

drop in to #Yoroshiku and have a chat =)

Ability to romanise kanji is a huge plus (1 of our current karaoke artists can do but is tied up). Ability to use AFX to do replacement signs for typesetting.

For encoding you need a good knowledge of AviSynth and filters, know appropriate use of filters, ability to hit an exact file size consistently, knowledge of both XviD and AVC encoding (not just using vdub.)

Preferably be european based, we have 1 artist in Canada and another in Australia which makes time zones an issue. Both of our encoders are Canada/USA based.

Ability to use AFX to do replacement signs for typesetting. For encoding you need a good knowledge of AviSynth and filters, know appropriate use of filters, ability to hit an exact file size consistently, knowledge of both XviD and AVC encoding (not just using vdub.) Preferably be european based, we have 1 artist in Canada and another in Australia which makes time zones an issue. Both of our encoders are Canada/USA based. Last edited by Grv; 2006-03-31 at 02:05.
