Basically Marinne cucked Alexis for nothing, why? because the Arab lost against Theo. The arab guy was hated by everyone under his command for being a traitor, meanwhile Theo managed to get an army big enough to deal with him.
Theo managed to defeat the Arab in a 1v1 mainly because he got stronger and because of his fighting style, then he killed the Arab and that's it.
Another piece of spoiler said that Marinne and Alexis got married in the end and she never told him about giving away her virginity and cheating on him. On the other hand Theo became the first emperor and Silluca is his queen.

That is why part of me hates this series and the author who created Marrine that way.
Marrine is an idiot, coward with no determination to stand for herself. She is a inept leader. She has now thrown away her love, peace for the continent, her honor, her self respect, and her virginity for a pointless war that noone wants and what she says it is for could been accomplished far easier without thousands dying and her having do all that if she had just married the person she loved and that everyone wanted her to marry in the first place.

And the crazy part here is she still got her happy ending. It just left a bad taste in my mouth. It's better if she just die to redeem herself for her sins.

I am glad Arab guy died but I can't believe even Marrine got a bloody happy ending for being just a biatch throughout the whole series

I've seen this occur before in other narrative works. A character does something heinous or selfish, and everything turning out fine for them in the end. This is the result of the author liking a character too much. The most famous example I can think of is Sasuke from Naruto, who stuck around way longer than his character arc permitted him to just because Kishimoto liked him so much.

What's really amazing is that no one cares that Marrine just committed a war crime, they hate her because she had sex.

Irvin together with the twins and Aishela and Priscilla will follow Theo and Siluca to Sistina in the upcoming arc. I have not read beyond that though. But the Shadows that served Kriesche are kind of eccentric (I'm not sure whether it's the same for others) in that they are most happy if their masters worked them hard. They are focused in serving their masters well that I doubt they have any space in their minds for any other thing Incidentally, the two lady attendants beside Marrine are also Shadows. Layla was the one sent to gather intel on the missing Valdrind knights in volume 2. Of course, all this already cut out from the anime.
