The release day of Vol.20 is on June 10.
Any updates on the CD?

I'm pretty sure it was in fact Shakugan no Shana III. The announcement scan you might have seen posted around was from that magazine. So no Spice and Wolf announcement for now...

Well, I've gotten to watch the anime in Russian.

While the voice acting is pretty good (granted I don't speak Russian so...), there are times where Holo just doesn't sound quite as sexy as she does in Japanese or English.

However, she does sound very cute when flirting!

I am willing to buy the Russian DVDs, but it will have to wait even though the allure is difficult to resist.

Are you sure that you can buy it now?
As i know, it was only the limited Collection version for Season 1 and it was sold out 2 years ago. It should not be to easy to find the license version.
This is the official store (item sold out) - http://store.reanimedia.ru/catalog/product/1519.html May be they will reprint it again soon.
License for S&W anime and manga in Russia belongs to Reanimedia. At that moment only first season was published. I know, it's strange and unfair, but Reanimedia works with a lot of project and S&W2 only in the plan. All another S&W versions are just the fun's translation work.

Even more, it's strange, but I was able to find the Season 2 in the few internet shops. It costs very cheep (130 Rub instead of 600+ normally) and it looks like it is just a fan translation. I cannot suggest to use this shops(?) for the above reasons
By the way, Anime license is something new in Russia. At that moment there are a lot of big fans communities that have been translating just everything for the last 10 years. Usually only subtitles, but sometimes with voices. But i surprised, that I can buy this in the online shops...

I have the Reanimedia's Collection version of S&W1. And it's terribly good
But, honestly speaking, some of the phrase sense in the fun's translation looks better for me then the license version
I'm really thinking to sent Russian Collection DVD to you (we are living close, as i see), but i do not think that i can part with it forever. )

Of course, may be i missed something and you have found the correct dvd's source )

Well, it looks like you are completely right... I guess it is for the best.

This is mainly because I know there is always the chance that I will start buying and trying collect all of the Russian book releases of S&W.

Also, if there is no Season II project release, it makes saying no just a bit easier.

Since it is a story in the fictitious world, it is difficult to apply to the real world.
It seems that it is equivalent to the era of Northern Crusades about religion.
(The 1200s?)
However, economically, it is equivalent to the situation where futures trading started in 1730.

Sorry for double post. [mod edit: posts merged]

NICO NICO DOUGA broadcasts the live streaming video of the season 1 and the season 2 during this weekend.
This may be a third season sign.
The producer can guess popularity with the number of comments.
Anyway, I plan to enjoy the comment of NICO NICO DOUGA this week.

Season 1 : October 29 10:00 (GMT)

Season 2 : October 30 10:00 (GMT)

Oh Kaguya, thanks for the news!

I will be sure to let my friends over there know.

Hopefully, something can be done to get the word out and boost the ratings (not artificially of course).

There were a few hundred posts in the subforum looking at various aspects of the story and its anime adaptation. Clearly its a fantasy.... but pulls elements from the early middle ages and the Church suppression of 'old country beliefs' as well as elements of Medici Italy, the powerful families and their economics, with a liberal spattering of Germanic cultures as well.

Well I figured it was a splattering of English/Italian I didn't see many German references. ^^; but then again I am not the most observant person in the world either.

The Germanic theories mostly came from the snowy hinterlands they were heading into... an argument could be made that Northern Italian Alps or Southern Germany would suffice... really though, its a fantasy and nothing prevents the author from pulling in a few interesting Germanic or even Norse motifs into it (raven and wolf mythologies, snowy landscapes).

That is true, and she was describing it to be a very long trip (even for a huge wolf, I'm sure they would measure distance a bit different than small humans) so I think I'd have to take up the Germany theory..

I've been following the reaction some since yesterday, seems quite positive. Twitter has been very active under #spicey-wolf and there's been considerable advertising for the broadcast.

I'm easily led to optimism when it comes to Spice and Wolf, but there's still a sizable fan base for the show and with the light novels finished only a few months ago (and the manga ongoing) I feel somewhat hopeful about S3.

Indeed, I feel there is a big enough fanbase that season 3 would be plausible. I mean it always seemed like it was a decently popular series when it was airing.

All we can do is hope.

Hmmm... maybe I should start using twitter.

I guess I've always been turned off to it because too many people use to say too many dumb things, and it seems to impair our communication skills.

After all, with the advent of email (yes, I love too love email) and other electronic communique, grammar, vocabulary, spelling have gone to pot.

But, I may have to start following twitter simply for the sake of S&W.
