Damn, I'm already crying only wandering through the official website, that "Gentle Jena" in the background ... that website is so good !
I really like this pv, my hype is high, what to say ... at July 7th, my body will be ready ! I didn't expect this format (5 ONA) but actually it's the best choice; it's also a surprise to know that "Hoshi no Hito" will be adapted in a film ! |

I need to admit something:
Despite being a huge fan of Planetarian, I have never read/listened to Hoshi no Hito, for the precise reason that I promised myself a few years back that I will never go through it until Planetarian finally gets its adaptation. It would seem now is the time. I've waited years to do this.

Yumemi's voice in the PV is so different from the kinetic novel, it's hard to imagine it's still the same seiyuu -_-. Still PV looks good, and the music is still nice for Key standard.
And now we finally get a face for the protagonist. Yay for that.

Okay ... officially signed up!
(Like I was not already, but this only made the deal even more surefire to try this out.) Am so glad they did an extended pv like this!

ED theme "Twinkle Starlight" preview
Image song "World's Pain" preview Tbh I don't think these songs capture the mood and theme of the series. I hope Hoshi Meguri no Uta, the kinetic novel's ED makes it to the anime, and if there is an official vocal version for Gentle Jena in the anime, it would bring millions buckets of tears.

Another single has also been announced, containing the main theme and ending song of the planetarian Hoshi no Hito movie, "Hoshi no Fune" by Lia, and another newly announced song. This song is apparently a vocal version of the very popular "Gentle Jena" from the VN, and will be sung by none other than Kitazawa Ayaka. (from kazamatsuri.org). |

Also the song already has a vocal version, which was already perfect as it was.

Same. The lyrics play a big part of it though; They're clearly written with Planetarian in mind, making plenty of references to living in a desolate world under a perpetually cloudy sky and such... But yeah, it works.

EDIT: Or looking at that announcement I suppose it could be just an image song that won't actually play anywhere in the anime itself. Which would be a bit disappointing...

Gentle Jena is the most popular song on the OST. For most people this is the song that comes to mind when you mention Planetarian, so out of all the songs that should at least make it there this should be it.
