Hmmm...I gotta admit, Meg was less annoying in episode 5. Still a bit of a ditz, but in an amusing way. I think it was the complete contrast between her and all those students that made it work.

Once again...we seem to be stuck in the 'Jo saves Meg' cycle as well. It still doesn't hamper my enjoyment of the show right now, but I would hope in the next 19 episodes they get a little more creative. And I'm sure they will once they hit the main story arc.

Too bad Sei is too old for a private girls boarding school...maybe she can go in undercover as a teacher. Sigh...I can dream anyways.

Episode 5 & 6 as a whole story comes across as entertaining.

It seems now that the main plot would deal with the theme of cybernatic brains as well as experimentation on mutates (the monsters). You cannot seem to trust RAPT now or maybe its just a rogue element working within RAPT.

I don't know if the Rei/Jo comparisons were sqooooshed, but after seeing the first 5 episodes there's absolutely no comparison between Rei and Jo :P Jo kicks ass and does it with style, Rei pisses me off, haha.

I like how the story is beginning to come out too relating to the pharmeceutical companies and the drugs that suddenly seem to be popping up and causing some craziness with the side-characters

Well things have certainly been lookin' up but the storyline really needs a kick ( a filler type episode might do it well..maybe) but I hope they dont drag every episode or story rather into 2 parts each.It makes things well...... i dont know.... ....a drag...?

I just wanna say something in defence of my favorite character in this anime, Meg. Also fast becoming my favorite anime character of 2004.

So many people dissing her. Is it because she's not invincible like Jo? Its so easy to create a character without flaws and I've come across this type of characters so many times that watching Jo has become somewhat monotonic. Meg on the other hand, has so many variations to her personality. She acts tough, daring, yet vulnerable and emotional, its irresistable. There's nothing wrong with kick ass characters like Jo. But sometimes vulnerability is more appealing. I love watching Meg dare herself on a mission only to get in trouble and needing rescue.

Oh yeah plz don't compare her to Sakura. She's not even close to being as irritating as that egotistical bitch. The way she mistreats Naruto is unjustified, the way she worships Sasuke is disgusting. She has a bad attitude and makes bad decisions and is practically in everyone's way. I know the drill.

Sure Meg gets in trouble most of the time. No, all the time. Difference is, when she does get in trouble I want to see her rescued. When Sakura is in a bind, I wish she would just die.

On another note, Meg is sexy as hell.

one question about the ending to episode 6

are they hinting at that Yoko, one of the cutest anime characters in this season, is going to die? she's only a side character but I don't want such a cute character to die I don't quite undertstand what Meg meant when she said she lied, did she lie about Yoko being able to recover, or did she lie about that they can be friends and go out to eat delicious food together?

OK! After seeing the newly subbed Episode 6, anybody that argues that this show has not plot should be 5 fingers to the faced!

Plot took a nice little kick here, it became a bit darker and far more complex, without sacrificing the action and the rather unique but nice fanservice (Meg and Jo, I still think they're gay... sweeeet).

I'm hoping anybody that has been watching could add a little insight in to the story.

really what I've gotten so far is the school they were in was created as a means of testing the drug on various people to see the effects it would take. From one viewing it seems the drug trips you in to a totally different but artificial world in which the environment and the people around you have all been manipulated by the drug. Toward the end of the episode there was a cut to a shot of 'agent' looking people in a van surveying the havoc the monster was wreaking on the school, but referring to it as their 'student' (as the monster was a transformation of one the students.' Now I'm not sure how they chose whom to be the monster, nor how they did it, but I think it has something to do with one of the last things Jo said "The weak get eaten by the demon within themselves." Now I'm not sure if she was referring to the girl turned monster or the psychotic people performing these tests

Also the last action sequence had a really sweet soundtrack in the back. I was pretty much blown away by this episode, I NEED MORE!!!

Only problem still is I really don't know what Meg's purpose is... I'm starting to think she's mostly for recon as she fits in the best with normal society.

For those that haven't started watching, Lunar has packaged BakuTen up to episode 6, I suggest watching

I take it as the brain trying to assimilate Jo's memories. However by doing so, it unlocks them for her, hence we see the flashes. This might prove vital to the plot later.

Episode 7 may launch the major arc (if the series is 13 episodes anyway)
