Yay! Someone's actually reading this! I'm really glad that you're liking it.

Anime Suki strikes me as being very... new anime centric. Nothing wrong with that, of course - it's generally easier to talk about something with new content coming out for it then something that's over and done with (barring a miracle).

However, it also means that for any fanfic crossing Haruhi over with any anime pre-2000 not named "Neon Genesis Evangelion", I feel compelled to provide references just to be on the safe side. Also, my fanfic jumps right into the characters and settings of El Hazard with out providing much background information on them (same goes for the Haruhi characters of course) - you need to know these characters/settings going in (I think) to appreciate the fanfic.

Anyway, please tell me what you think of the full fanfic once you're finished it. Chapter 16 is probably the best chapter for fans of the Haruhi Suzumiya character herself.

Technically Haruhi is already crossed over with things like "The Legend of the Galactic Heroes" and "Space Battleship Yamato"...via homages during the Space Battle.

Well, just finished it now, so I'll share some impressions.

Spoiler for In case anyone else is reading it:

Your characterizations were spot on and their development believable (well, maybe not Diva, but it's been a long time since I watched El Hazard). The villains were sympathetic with believable reasons for their actions (which I'm pretty sure were lacking in the level of development in the original).

The character interactions were believable as well. Well done on foreshadowing the eventual Kyon/Nanoha hook-up (unless you didn't want to foreshadow it, in which case tough luck).

The time travel reveal at the end was really a surprise to me (though maybe more than it should have been considering that the events of El Hazard are all within a causal loop). It bugged me a bit, though, because that isn't how time travel was shown to work in either series. Oh well.

I was also a little bit saddened that there wasn't a happy ending for Galus as well. Sure, he's a bastard, but from the moment you gave his backstory I was expecting/hoping that the cause for his hatred would be resolved. I was thinking "Hm, the Eye of God opens portals in time and space. What if it could hi-jack a portal from the past?"

I feel like I should say a bit more, but my mind is kinda spent right now. I just read from Ch. 16 to the end in a single sitting.

Well, her and Haruhi are very alike, so I figured she'd do that kind of things she did. I just like that idea of seeing Haruhi's face have recieving a bit of "What comes around goes around." I somehow doubt that she enjoyed being fondled as much as she likes doing the fondling.

Of course I'm thinking more of Tsuruya's reaction when Haruhi got her comeuppance. She seemed to enjoy both actions equally.

I agree. It also makes room for character development. As awesome as Tsuruya is, her character design leaves little room for character development, and thus it's a bit hard to write a plot based around her, unless the writer purposefully give her flaws. Tanigawa apparently never meant Tsuruya to have any real character development or else we would've seen more flaws.

Say what you will about Sighs, but that book was an important turning point in Haruhi's character development, and it really made me like her a lot in the later novels.

On another note, it looks like FF.net finally fixed all the problems thay were having all week. It's nice to put all that mess behind them.

Still, compared to most of the other characters, she's pretty squeeky clean.
