Sasuke is not overpowered.

Until he gains the strength to take out all of the Akatsuki, including his brother, in a few moves (preferably, in a single move), he will stay "under"powered.

I believe, that is what Kishi intended to do before starting to work on the details of his story. Since the story currently goes towards that direction, you can still claim, mada mada dane...in Echizen's words...

No way at all is Sasuke under powered. He is way above Kakashi's level at this point and he took out Team 7. There is also that technique that Orochimaru stopped Sasuke from using.

Why do you believe Kishi thinks this way about Sasuke?

I mean the dude is stronger than the 8 chuunin and they aren't considered under powered.

sasuke = first to be powered. The rest of the characters will probably follow with Naruto in the end being the more powerful.

I don't think Sasuke's nec. overpowered. It's just I think people felt that Kishimoto powered up Sasuke without giving any real explanation on why he's so powerful. Also I think what makes people percieve that Sasuke has been overpowered is because Sasuke seems to be emphasized more than Naruto at this point and lets face it many people over-hype how much Sasuke really has gotten. Sure he's strong, but he should be. He's currently Naruto's rival and Naruto needs a stepping stone to surpass. Eventually once the rivalry takes a backseat other characters in the Naruto universe will catch up...not nec. suprass, but definately atleast come closer.

All he did was get older so of course he is going to get stronger naturally. And sasuke doesn't have a jutsu that is so powerful that he has to wear bandages on his arms for like a week.
