It doesn't sound good if you dont put "Anniversary"

just make it simple like "Animesuki 10th Anniversary"

Anyway where can i find previous Animesuki Banner

Try searching in this and the General Chat sub-forum.

tip: use the thread title search under the advanced search feature.

Good idea; I think it should be possible to do that.

Looks like the consensus is to have a small selection of approved gradients, so I guess that'll be the next step. If people want to start submitting gradient ideas here, that'd be fine. Here is the tester:

Beige
Blue

Just upload your gradient idea, paste the URL into the background box, and hit "Set". The height should be 100px, and if you do it right you shouldn't need the gradient itself to be more than 1px wide. Please make it a straight vertical gradient (not horizontal).

What's the size again? 760 x 100? Coz I see vertical lines.... when I upload a sample gradient.

Anyway pink and blue are so common already.. Sorry, first timer....

Use either png or gif format. jpegs tend to act a bit funny in gradients, especially in images with small dimensions. Even gif's 8bit color space isn't a problem since the maximum color count is 100 anyway.

1x100px gifs and pngs work fine with all my browsers.

Not sure if it relates to your problem, but be sure to save your gradients without a color profile (save for web option in PS if I remember correctly).

I don't know how to post a link to the test pages with my gradient.
So for now...
here: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/201/28665851.png/
that's the gradient.

As for text...we could put "Animesuki" and the year the anime aired somewhere on the banner?

Had to dig into the imageshack page itself to get the direct link to the picture, which was:

How can we be sure that we aren't recycling used images?

for the text, how about using the roman numeral for '10' as X, with bars on it's top and bottom,
"Animesuki Forums X" or "Animesuki X Anniversary", with bars on top and bottom of the 'X'

I think that wouldn't be good.... because "10" is read as ten. "X" on the other had could be taken as letter "X" more than as "10". Newbies may read it as X...

I'm really liking that second one, first looks a tad dull.
