If you remeber the exam after the forest of death, the really sick guy that refed the prems. I heard he was suppose to be like super strong like one of the strongest in leaf period before he cought a terible illness.

BTW: The guy is named Hayate... the one that performed "leaf style: dance of the crescent moon".

What I found funny about him was the fact that Konoha sends a spy who has an illness and coughs up every 2 seconds

He was strong but not that strong, "only" a special jounin.
A strong and experienced Jounin like Baki took care of him quite quickly.

He had talent and potential, too bad he wasn't given the chance to improve.

Well Baki did compliment him on his talent in swordsmanship, but who knows whether or not he was significantly weakened by his disease. Baki pretty much made him look like a chump though. I don't think he was that outstanding as far as Jounins go.

I agree. Hayate was definitely not as strong as elite jounin like Kakashi, Gai, Kabuto and Baki.
