Yeah, that was the author of Mogami-kun and Kudzu Aristocrat right? Or am I thinking of someone else?

If the author ever comes back for some reason let me know because I won't know about it unless I run across the same story again.

Looks like the author of 学園のアイドルになった幼馴染を捨てて、幸せになることが許されるんだろうか decided to end the story right away. It looks like there was such a bad reaction to the last chapter that the author just gave up. That's too bad. I didn't like the last chapter either, but I thought that was more of a matter of personal taste. The author said "For the time being, I will refrain from writing stories about passing each other as much as possible."

I'm still only reading Nocturne and syosetsu's real world romance category so I'm not sure. The not-real world romance category is filled with shoujo villainesses, broken engagements and zamaa, sister betrayals and I'm tired of those.

I'm getting tired of the stories I'm most interested in following stop updating. They don't often get to the half-way point before they stop.

Doing my check to see what Nocturne novels are still there, I just noticed that the previously mentioned "Ore no Imouto ga Saikou no Okazu Datta" web novel was deleted from Nocturne. Did it get published or something?

Thanks! I have to keep an eye on that one. I only read nine chapters of it and then put it on hold.

I have a lot of stories on hold. Many of them I stopped reading right before something bad was about to happen (like NTR or BSS). That's not why I put this story on hold though.

For a short introduction: MC is isekaied, turns into a young boy, but looks much more like a young girl, which actually more helps him with being a womanizer than hinders him, though he hates looking like that. Has the ability to travel between worlds (which he uses for different anime world) and can also summon fictional characters from other worlds with some restrictions. While it definitely falls into the junk food category, it's one of the rare decent ones I found recently.

Also hope you get better soon. I went through it unvaccinated a few months ago and it sucked.

Spoiler: Maybe if what the childhood friend said wasn't so cutting and if she took more responsibility for her part in the breakup it would have been acceptable. Or if she was painted as being less sympathetic from the beginning. Maybe there was too much uncertainty about how the story would go compared to other childhood friend messed up relationship stories and it didn't meet reader's expectations. Usually it's pretty lopsided over who is more at fault in a breakup (if it goes into detail). Then you have an obvious side to favor. It's hard to walk the line of both sides being likable and yet doing so many things wrong. I could understand if readers didn't like either of the two main characters because they were both so unassertive. Maybe this is one reason not to have long prologues about the childhood friend relationship ending (if you're putting blame on both sides). It might wear out the reader before the main story starts. Most stories don't go much into the childhood friend breakup if it's at the start of the story. Sometimes it's a barely passing few sentences and then the story goes positive from there. But I don't like it when there's too little info about the breakup. It makes the story feel shallow.
